What's the difference between a hitch/ball and someone with a longer truck? Or a limo for that matter?

Watch where the hell you're going. Problem solved.

I like that. It matchs the predator side steps.
    Who makes it?

FWIW, the ball mount is called the "draw bar", not that I hear anyone call it that.

I agree with some of the posters, don't overestimate the strength of the frame back there. Hopefully the 3rd gen has improved on the tin foil that the 1st gen used for it's rear C-channel.

Why does a simple post on here always turn into a f'n pissing match. The poster was simply stating the hitch saved his ass. If you have one, it would do the same in low speed settings. Done, move on.

On a similar note, i usually DONT leave the hitch in the receiver. But, one time i did and backed up into my wifes civic. $3,000 in damage for her, none for me. Happy coincidence, though i had to get it fixed for her.

If someone hits their knee on my trailer ball, they are too darn close to my truck anyway. There is no need for them to be that close. And if someone rear ends me and destroys their radiator, well, they should not have been so close to me again. I leave my in, and if you don't like it, keep your distance.

I don't leave my hitch in - someone will steal it... whats so hard about removing the hitch its just another thing to worry about... hitting someone - someone hitting me - some douche bag stealing it.

Plus if you want to put your bike rack in there less work...

I'm going to get a metal rear bumper once I see on I like so I won't have to worry about anyone bumping me..

They make locking pins for a reason. Put it in, lock it, no worry.

stop calling it a hitch! It's a DRAW BAR AND BALL

I saw someone joking about calling it the wrong name so I let it go for a whille, but now I'm getting pissed

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Wouldn't a steel bumper be a better bet than a draw bar + ball/crazy step add on?

I know my friends who have steel bumpers seem to suffer less damage than the cars, many only having scuffs.

I've wondered about what happens to my truck when I'm not around. But since I back into parking spots, and got a dash cam, I can record any front facing shenanigans.

It's law in some states to not have the hitch in the receiver unless it's in use. They'll ticket you in Michigan FYI

Whatever you put in your reciever, it gets a lot of abuse on the back of the truck and can easily seize in place in just a month or two, especially in areas with salt. I paint grease on the hitch and inside the receiver of I leave anything in place. If I just leave the cap on, I still paint he inside with WB grease from a foam brush. Otherwise, the rust and scaling can make it difficult to use come spring time. You can also paint grease on the entire hitch assembly including nuts and bolts.

The receiver is welded onto the hitch, soooo....

It is illegal to drive with the draw bar installed in California

With out me even bothering to look it up...It is?

I take mine out, more often than not it's my shins that get banged or my pants that get greasy.
