Had another date with Viking Brett in my driveway. We finished what we tried to accomplish on Sunday... well technically what we and Old Brett (@BDN ) set out to do last July: adding the Wheelers steel braided front brake lines. I was actually able to provide something mechanical and useful to get the retaining clip off the brake line. HUZZAH!

Decided to spend the $19 and buy two new brake tubes from Toyota. Well Viking Brett made that decision easier when he rounded off one of the nuts at the end. We assembled the brake tubes and new lines off the truck, then performed and easy-peasy swap.

My hands were just too big to get in there and remove that clip. I'm glad Viking Brett could get in that tiny space.

    Also...

I bought the truck with approx 20,000 miles on it. Within days this fella showed up and died. 180,000 miles and 16 years later, he's still there. In fact with all the wheeling and driving, the dude has never moved.

Four days ago I saw this dude show up. I was hoping he'd be able to find his way out but alas, today he succumbed and he now lays rest just below my temp gauge.

It took brains over brawn to remove that clip. Good thing I was available.

    880, 881, and 882 are 500. 883s are just under 600 iirc.
