The wind here has calmed down but in its wake over 300,000 in the seattle/tacoma metro are without power tonight.

I feel very fortunate that mine is still on. Sorry Ben.

 

Damn, your lucky Ben. I still have no power , no munchies, and no heat or hot water. Also I'm bored....

 

haha maybe I'll rope one of my roommates into helping. I dont think they would be very useful though. Did the vice grips hurt the canvas? That sounds like a good idea.

 

Nah the canvas held up okay. If I did it again I'd put some rubber or something on the teeth of the vice grips so they don't dig into the canvas but it worked fine.

I saw another state doing it one time and thought it was a cool idea. Be a fun annual meet.

 

There is a local jeep club here that does it

 

My chruch does that every year up at five springs on the big horns. FRV is usually the coach if the snow is bad.

I don't know of many trails you can go try really up north. The pryors I know I guess have some stuff.

So, I took off my RTT and the bed rack and stored them for the Winter. This is the first time in years I m driving the redhead with an empty bed. No extra weight at all except for the spare tire on the bumper. It is amazing how different it is compared to 'normal', where normal is at least a canopy/RTT weight along with the OSK.

Driving around right now it is really squirrely! The springs feel way to stiff and for the first time it feels like it is over geared. But man is it quick...

I got a weight on it after a dropped off a load at the dump a few days ago. Empty, in its current condition, it weighs 4750#

 

I loaded up my truck with audio gear today. Felt so much better. Need some weight in the back haha I know the feels!

Crazy how light it is compared to trip status.

 

@Digiratus I definitely can relate. Just drove a few hundred miles with only one skid up front and an empty bed. Felt like a racecar! Rear end was super squirrels on the slick roads over to Casper. Picked up the cap and it was back to the planted caddy ride my shocks were valved for

@Blackdawg Haha audio gear is heeeavy! What shocks are in the rear?

 

Same thing mike has actually. Just newer so they are black haha plus his old alcan 8 leafs. Just needs like 100-150lbs and then it's great. Would match the front anyways. Pretty skittish in the back right now. Way better then what I had originally.

 

A little snow wheeling trip/Christmas tree party would be awesome. I'm planning on coming up for Christmas. Would be fun!
