    Did some reading online and the best angle for penetration is 0-10* from perpendicular of base metal. The angle I'm at is in the range of 45-60*. Plus I'm welding on metal towards the upper ends of the weldable spectrum.

    I think it was a t-shirt cannon. I gussets it's more of a promotional project but man they had some money in it. All King long travel suspension. Was pretty bad ass, could definitely be a fun ride :p

    do some research online. I'd say with two pieces of metal you'd want the bead to look as if it is actually bonding. I'm no expert tho and I'm sure someone else could chime in.
    I'd also have to agree with this. How thick is that metal?
    maybe start a weld thread and see if you can get some good pointers.
