If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Which one are you looking at? The 3-9x33 VX-2 seems like a good match for the Scout. I have a "cheap" UTG 3-9x32 on my MVP that works well for 50-300(max) yds.

I built this trailer out of an old pop up camper, what kind of capacity are you thinking?

265 and fit perfectly with a room in the wheel well or 285 and fill up the wheel well and possibly rub in the font

Quite a bit, I'd like an Expo style trailer. Larger tires, sort of a pop up style with the "bed" of the trailer housing water, fuel, small Honda gen set, battery pack with inverter, cook station off to a side, and a larger RTT on top. I'd like to keep the dimensions similar to a tepui kukenam closed

Hey guys, I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I'd normally not bother you with this, but I haven't found much from searching to fill in the gaps in my thought process.

I've got to buy some new tires soon, and the new hotness seems to be the BFG KO2 in a 34x10.5x17. This is well and good, but I haven't found any reviews of people taking that size offroad with a taco (everyone is a street queen apparently).

So, if I want to go with that size, I would have to buy rims. These ones are my current choice, which look like a good price, but I don't know if, since I'm buying rims, I should be correcting the 'backspace issue' and looking for something with a 4.5" BS? I do have wheel spacers already, so I have that option as well.

The other thing to do would be to keep on my factory 16" rims, keep using spacers, and go to a 285/75/16.

Any advice from my most trusted advisors?

You shouldn't have to buy new wheels, I've seen someone run 35's on stock wheels. But @12trever ran them when we did the Idaho back country discovery route last summer and did well. I know a lot of people run Ko2's off road and haven't seen any complaints.. I know @Greddy through up tons of rocks with his though last summer

Check out cooper s/t maxx, they are a fantastic tire for our terrain and weather, decent price, great warranty, and you don't have to buy new rims. They also have tougher sidewalls than the bfg. Use the money you save to go wheelin'

How bad is the tire noise? I have Toyo AT's now, even on the freeway at 70mph they piss me off. I had Toyo MT's on my Touareg, it was extremely well insulated but that tire noise got to me

They are a very quiet tire, my favorite all around tire. Almost magical on snow and ice...

I'm really happy with my Coopers(STT's). I like them more then the Toyo MT's I had before.

+1 on Duratracs. Blew my previous few sets of BFGs out of the water. Life of them has been phenomenal compared to the BFG as well.
