My guess is Toyota adds the switch to the clutch pedal because if you want cruise control as a option they just charge you $500 to do what i just did for $67........

Awesome, thanks for posting. I did check my 2015 and the clutch switch is already wired. I'm looking forward to an easy install. Thanks!

EDIT: I'm stupid and was looking at the clutch safety switch. I knew it couldn't be that easy. I'll have to order a switch. There is an empty plug beside where the clutch disengagement switch would be located. I'm hoping that is the correct wiring for the switch.

I just installed the cruise control unit. It took 20 minutes. It works like a charm. I can't believe Toyota gets almost $400 for doing the job and couldn't even tell me when or if one would be available for the 2016.

    Thanks for the information.

Next is the intermittent wipers. I have a wiper stalk from a 2000 Tacoma and I'll check to see if it's the same. Probably not, but you never know.

When you get that lead to gold thing figured out, let me know.

I assume that this install would be the same for my 09 Prerunner Base model?

How did you order your Tacoma with matching bumpers? Must not have gotten the Sr convenience package, because it comes with cruise control.

It that a regional thing or?
My local dealer sent me a build sheet for a allocation 2WD SR w/ utility pkg. back in September and it clearly shows Intermittent Wipers as standard equipment.

Idk but I purchased my 2016 SR about a month ago and it did not come with Intermittent so I installed a switch myself!

Great write up OP... This is pretty cool, one would think adding Cruise Control would require changes to the ECU or something. Glad is a simple plug and play. What's next on the list? LOL

I just bought a double cab sr. My build sheet said intermittent wipers and it didn't come with them either. Can I ask, the ones you put in from the dealer or an after market deal/
    ?

They are a oem switch from a 2014 Toyota corolla. If @jshsltr still have some for sale possibly! And the same switch is in a 2015 Toyota camry also!
Here is my link to the write up on the install!
