    Howdy

Is there any efficient way to search dealer allocations in the Nortwest ? Or their "in transit" status for a given model?

I have wasted a lot of time driving to dealers to test drive a TRD OR Access cab..."oops we sold it."

The Toyota website is cumbersome and one still needs to search individual dealer inventorys.

I live in a fairly remote area....any ideas helpful.

There's no way for a regular Joe to do this type of search. Your best bet would be to contact a dealer's Internet Sales Department directly and ask them. Where in the NW are you, and how far are you willing to travel?

    Thanks

    Generally Portland area or Seattle.

Dealers seem to be typically less than truthful in order to get a sale.

I am in no hurry unless the feeding frenzy continues and there is no normal supply on dealer lots until by say January.

I would consider earnest money deposit except I was told I would loose that outright should I fail to purchase.

There are a couple of ride/comfort issues I hope a test drive will address before making a ten year purchase.

Tried to rent a Tacoma to test drive but no TRD OR models offered.

Look up the deposit laws in your state. In California, it is illegal for them to refuse to refund it

The dealer I placed my initial order with said they don't offer refunds, but after a little bit of persuasive arguing, they were willing to write "deposit is refundable" on the receipt. (I eventually cancelled that order and got my $1000 back.) I'd never put a deposit down that isn't refundable... especially before even seeing and test driving the vehicle.

Is Bend too far for you?

I mentioned to my dealer that with my order of a TRD AC with full package, is a 95% commitment to buy ($2000 deposit ). I then said "should I elect to decline taking delivery you'll have the truck sold in 24 hours "
He corrected me by saying "no, actually less than 12 hours."
    Order your truck.
Then you'll still have 2-3 months to make up your mind.
You might see my thread about "Decision to buy".
