Well I added a lift, bigger tires and took the air dam off all at the same time, so I definitely lost mpgs.

TRD Beadlocks (Black) w/ BFG KO2s 265-75-16. I really did not want to go with an E rated tire, but really wanted these tires.

You are right about the rack looking great by itself. I love it!

Is there a provision to easily remove the rack when not in use? Would that leave funky looking brackets sticking up? I've got the factory rack on my not-yet-built truck because I haven't seen any other rack system that can easily be removed when not in use. I know the factory rails are always mounted, but it's hard to beat the ease of swinging the bars out of the way. But I don't really know much about roof racks.

Cool ride man. I'd say you'd have better luck getting an answer by creating your own thread or maybe posting in the lift thread.

Yes, it is the tonneau cover through the Toyota dealership. I don't know what other brand you're speaking of but I like the tri-fold one it came with for the most part. With the tonneau and tailgate closed and locked, it seems the cushy black weatherstrip seal doesn't completely cover the gap on the top lip of the tailgate, so rain mainly, seeps in a little on that end of the bed. But of course there exists a quarter of an inch gap between the sides of the tailgate door and taillight/taillight panel so it really doesn't matter.

I would say that if you are looking for something to easily remove then the Frontrunner isn't for you. Not that it's difficult but it can be a little tedious in that there are 14 bolts holding it down to the roof rails which are easy to access. If you wanted to completely remove the rack including the roof rails then you will also have to remove another 10 bolts. As of right now I don't think you can simply remove the lower 10 bolts without first removing the 14 rack bolts due to limited space for hands and tools.

Most folks get a Frontrunner or Prinsu rack for the strength to be able to hold a RTT and other gear. These are things that the factory rails would be inadequate and couldn't support the weight.

I don't plan to remove my rack unless I absolutely have to!

It's the sport grill. I haven't decided if I want to hang on to it just in case I need to put it back on. (Trade or sell)

I had a similar issue (if I am understanding your issue correctly) and realized the rear tonneau latches have 2 clicks. The first click locks it in but allows you to move the rear section up and down about an inch and doesn't compress the gasket. I kept trying to slam it/close it harder and even pulled on it, but it still didn't look right. The trick was pulling down/putting weight on it directly above the latches to squeeze the rubber, and you will hear a second click that will keep the seal seated properly. It actually seals very well on the gate when fully latched--to the point where I have to unlatch the tonneau to close the gate...but the bed still gets somewhat wet when it rains! (proabably from the front gaps, although it seems like it drips in some from the sides as well)

It's a leftover from my silver 2007 DCLB. It's a good box(Husky). I just never really liked how crossovers looked, especially now on the MGM shortbed. They also make useless, all the space underneath it.
I decided on a UWS-42-W-BLK this time around. I get more cubic feet of storage and still have room to mount stuff on the sides. I hope to get it installed this weekend and will post pics.
