I will be taking the GMAT next month so that I continue my education while working a full time job. I am looking to get my MBA in finance and I already have my undergrad in Business Management. I was curious if anyone has any good tips or "study hacks" for taking the GMAT. I have already bought the GMAT guide book and have been going through it at night. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I took the GMAT to get into my Masters in Accounting Program. Make sure you test yourself with timed tests because the information isn't the hardest part but the fact that you have such a limited amount of time. The Questions are meant to trick you so if you find yourself stuck, rethink it because the question may not be as hard as you think it is. Also read from answers d to a. They will try and trick you and put an appealing but incorrect answer as A and you will want to select it without looking at the other answers. Make sure you review all your basic algebra and geometry and you will be able to at least make an educated guess. You can average two minutes per question so if you find yourself going over that average you need to speed it up. It took me 3 times and i eventually got a 630 which isn't spectacular but it was good enough when combined with my undergrad grades to get into my program.

Thanks!! The online program that I am looking at only requires a 450 on the GMAT lol. Interesting theory on looking at the answers from D to A. I never thought about it but it makes sense. The algebra and geometry will be the areas that I focus on the most.

Mine didn't have a set score that I needed to achieve I just needed to finish in at least the 50th percentile on both sections. The reading comp I was consistently at least in the 80th percentile but the math was way harder because most people who take the test are much better at math than reading comp so it skews the percentiles up. It took me 3 times to get my math up above 50.
