You can turn the notification and voice volumes down. May be less annoying. Maybe.

not working for me either, the "show notifications" is checked, sent myself a text message, nada, rec'd an email, nada

what's it look like when you get a message? does it show up on the radio regardless of what screen it's currently in?

That's another frustrating part. Sometimes it doesn't come through at all, some times it just shows an empty box with the name of the sender. It only fully works for me anyways, when it's "set up" each time you start the truck. Mine is an overlay of what's on the current screen, when it works of course.

And I can confirm the recent iOS Entune app update fixes nothing for me. I suspect the trucks Entune software will need an update for this to be resolved.

The message won't be displayed unless you are at a full stop. You will only see who it's from while moving with the option of it being read to you. It's a safety thing.

I'll check that out. I thought that too, but I swear I gotten intermittent messages when driving. Thought that was the whole point, to have it read to you while driving. My Ram's Unconnect did this without issue and with supreme simplicity.

You may see the message if you stop at a stop sign or especially a stop light where you are at a stop for a few seconds. Then it will go away when you move.

I was under the impression it was supposed to read them aloud automatically? Regardless, it doesn't work without pushing the set up button each and every time you fire up the truck.

yeah I can't get anything to work regardless of telling entune to set up my messages again each time I get in, or re-checking the BT settings on my phone, have never rec'd any messages....honestly I really don't need the messages but my curiosity is pushing me to want to know why it doesn't work

I feel ya. Nothing like having a new toy that won't play nice. I probably will turn the feature off, but it's driving me nuts knowing it doesn't work and I don't get to choose. My OCD is working overtime.

There is an option that allows you to select for them to be read aloud automatically. I hate that y'all are having so many issues...mine "just works" so far.

I'm sorry but I love Entune!

After all those years of literally EVERYTHING being Apple proprietary. Finally a system comes out that works well with Android. Couldn't be happier:bananadance:

I wonder if you've played with android auto or Apple CarPlay? Toyota should leave software to the experts.

No not really, but honestly how well my phone pairs to my vehicle was not my main priority. It was just a plus.

overall I'm happy with the entertainment system.

I sold car audio for about 5 years from 1999-2004 so that was before bluetooth and satelite radio was in it's infancy, but navigation was available and on DVD...here are a few thoughts

The bass is ridiculous from the JBL system.............for a factory system. I would have customer's spending $1000 on average to add that much bass to a vehicle so for that I'm extremely satisfied as I'm not into bass competitions I think they did a great job on that...and I've NEVER like JBL, but it's the same company as infinity and they probably share components...(ranting sorry)

their nav as sophisticated as it is does not have the ability to pull addresses from your phone's phonebook....unless I'm missing something. I really wish I could just mirror whatever app I'm running on my phone to the screen, that way I could just continue to use WAZE which is my preferred navigation app.

What's the point of having apps like pandora when you can just run pandora via bluetooth....does the app allow the video screen to mirror what's on your phone then??? I think it does but unfortunately I prefer spotify and there's no app for that on entune

I like how fast the BT pairs when the truck is turned on, that's very quick and operates smoothly.

It's pretty slick. Toyota choose unwisely here. GMC got it right on this one.

When mine worked...I didn't have to set it up each time. Now Apple has had an upgrade so that might be the problem now.
