What's with the 6' tall bunny on the dirtbike?

When I go on the Toyota.com website, they are obviously and understandably quite proud of the new 2016 Tacoma. It's the featured picture. There's a beautiful blue DCSB TRD Sport truck in the desert with dirtbikes and 4-wheelers in the background. There's a yellow dirtbike popping a wheelie which is ridden by a bunny.

Why?
What does a bunny have to do with the Tacoma?

 

Because fuck Jeeps, that's why.

 

The commercial says something like: "you are 25 and still playing in the mud"

What they're doing is marketing the Tacoma to the younger crowd. By showing rabbit on a bike: Randomness, fun, craziness, adventure, etc. They're trying to show the Tacoma as a fun truck for the youngsters.

It may be a reference to Hare & Hound motorcycle desert races. In our Hare&Hound series in Southern Cal we'll dress one of our lead riders up as a rabbit in full suit and all and he leads the way of the race as if we're chasing him.

 

That is the guy who normally drives the Colorado. His truck was in the shop while they were shooting the commercial.

 

It's a Playboy bunny inside the costume and Toyota wants hot chicks driving the new 3rd gen.!

 

Looking at owner threads around here, seems like that might not be working out so well...........

I like how they tint the windshields of the trucks for the shoot so you can't see the drivers. Almost every automobile commercial does that.

 

Just put a real god pic of some nice big boobies as the start-up screen instead of that crappy Toyota warning screen.... I'd be happy...

I need my boobies to start the day... hehe..!! (I have them MY start up screen)... hehe
