I am now towing a 20' travel trailer, 3900# dry, wet is is probably 4500#, averaging around 10.5 mpg!!!!!!!!!!! driving it right.

Getting 130 dollars a day to live out of it, it pays for itself after a while.

I get 20+ on my 2005 Tacoma DBL cab Pre runner 4x2 with the fiberglass tonneau, K&N air filter, 20" wheels. I usually drive between 75-85 mph on the highway. 75-85 is the norm around Atlanta(and you can get passed often running those speeds). Probably need to slow down for better mileage. But hard to do since I have been running at these speeds for 15+ years.

Towing my 18' bass boat I get 12-13mpg.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Last winter (no snow) I took a trip one afternoon to visit some friends, total of 100 miles one way, and it was 95% highway miles and could only average 20mpg.... I really expected a bit more perhaps 22-23... my best local mileage seems to be 18-19 most of the time.

My Taco is completely stock, correct tire pressures, 4.0, 6spd, 4wd.

Some of my friends who have 2wd, 4cyl report higher mileage, naturally. Very few 4.0 , 2wd Taco's in New England, absolutely useless in the winter....

Get an AFE Pro Dry filter! I was in the same boat as you. Getting 17-18 most of the time with 20-50 mile commutes for work with lots of variation (highway, city, country roads, hills, etc) for 2 years. Got 20mpg one day on a 100 mile each way trip, and that was the first/only time I got that much for a day. Still didn't give me 20mpg for the tank! Now with the AFE I consistently get 20mpg per tank. Well, so far this summer. Guess I'll see how winter is in a few more months.

I don't want to spam or anything. I am a normal guy work in OIL industry. Specifically Refining, making gas out of the Raw oil..........

I have been investing in oil for a while. Check out Oil sands Quest (stock ticker BQI) out of Canada. They have least a huge amount of land and are drilling for oil right NOW. They have confirmed 1.75 billion barrels, managements estimates around 10 billion!!!!!!!

Guys this is going to be huge. It is a hedge against high gas prices. I don't care how high it goes because when it does so does my BQI stock!

They trade at 4-5 dollar range now. It could, if things go well for them Double in a few days or months. I am only guessing....IT has gone from 4.30-6.0o now in a month.

I am a normal guy, I posted this once before around $3...... It is hard for anyone to recommend anything like this, but I like helping people. I took 10k from my MOM.......Enough said, I love my mom and she has never invested before....

People should invest in there future! Buy Stocks, mutual funds, Buy a Home, live dept free and save. It is the best feeling............And you can do it on any budget, you just have to dig in....Ok enough...

I am so happy right now....my stock is up and I feel it will triple in 5 years or more. I will never have to work again...

Guys if you are new to investing start you an account with someone today online in a few minutes. USE Etrade, Swhab, any of the top 10 or so in a google search. Transfer a 100 bucks and you can trade yourself, they will help you...........If you need help hell I will help you get going.......

Wow this stock just went over 6 bucks a share.............

    Can you Say SUPERCHARGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, the gas prices are only going to get so high. As soon as they get much higher, I think that the public is going to demand that drilling and building of refineries in the U.S. resumes, and the price will plumet. Wishfull thinking? Perhaps. But, its already in the works. We have the technology today to drill what we couldnt 35 years ago, and without much damage to the sourounding area. Even Popular Science predicts that gas prices could be $1.00 a gallon or so in 20 years.

Love your insight... so I take it you're voting for McCain right? Because if Obama ends up as President oil companies are going to take a hit and so are the consumers. In the long term stock will probably go up but not as fast as you're thinking. BTW I work in the oil industry as well and although my stock has gone up it's pretty stable and holding at this point. BTW you do know that the US actually EXPORTS oil right? It's not always the supply of oil that's causing fuel to rise but more the specilation of supply and the price the wall street geeks decide to pay for it. We simply don't have the refining capacity here in the US to keep up with demand. Sure we can authorize more drilling but if we can't refine it it will continue to be EXPORTED. A lot of oil is exchanged with other countries for products.

I am for McCain, but I don't really know which would be good for Oil producing stocks(not refiners long term). Could be either, and I personally don't think it will matter since the Chinese, Russia, India ect are all going to need more oil.

The Mexico (top ten oil reserve in the world is depleting FAST) and so are many other smaller reserves.

McCain may actually be worse since he could get the US drilling there own oil like he has stated....Our Gulf holds billions. However, BQI (canada oil sands) is already deep in the capital spending and there oil output will surpass Saudi by 2012.

I agree with you though, good to chat with someone else in oil.

The Big refineries are going to wan to secure some Canada Oil reserves soon, if the SEC adjusts the way Oil sands is graded, then the Big oil will want proven oil sands reliability.............

The only real big oil sands reserves available for sale is "BQI".......That is why this could be a HUGE Gainer for a long time.....Check out Suncor "SU" wow.

Anyway I am sure we could both ramble on....Live is good in the Oil business fore sure, might as well make some money on it.

When oil stabilizes hopefully around 80-100 bbl BQI will still be a great company.

Look at our Vol the past few days, check out the OCT calls options!!!! Something is brewing, that is why we are up 30% the past month....

Once BQI starts pumping the oil with there pilot plant in 1st QT 2009 and the results are good, you will have a hard time buying this stock below $12-20 dollar range....

Point is guys young and old. Get into some kind of investment; housing, land, pig bellies, stocks....Just get started and start Small and work your way up.....In the long run you will thank yourself......

    regards

You want lower gas prices, urge your senators and congressmen to repeal the ban on domestic drilling. Oil prices will drop at unheard of rates and we'll be back to $1.00 gas. There's enough oil offshore, in oil shale, and in domestic fields like the Bakken field in ND to last us 100 years and many many times what's in the middle east.

    + 1/2

If you don't increase refining ability at the same time (or even now) then any extra oil that is discovered will be dumped into the world market as we wouldn't be able to refine it in large enough quanties. Refineries only purchase as much oil as they can refine for any given day. It's a daily purchase process. Refineries don't have the ability to store oil for long periods of time and have it sit waiting to be turned into fuel. The bottleneck is in the refining process currently. We here in California haven't refining capacity in several decades. You can send all the oil here you want but we can't use it at the rates it would be sent.

I am pretty certain they are in the engineering stages of building atleast 2 refinery's; 1 in AZ and the other in.......somewhere up that way...

The reason why is to process the CD oil sands that they plan on sending down to the us.

    SO yes a good thing!

LOL! You know there's a huge natural gas deposit off of SC? Sanford finally jumped on board today and said he's now behind offshore drilling as long as state's rights are taken into account.

I know all about the refinery situation. We haven't built one in 30 years (my uncle is an engineer who works on refineries all over the world). Go ahead and start building refineries but you don't just find oil and start pumping it overnight. It can take years to pinpoint a reserve after drilling many holes. For example, with the North Sea reserve they drilled 75 holes with no luck and then on the 76th they hit it.

The biggest problem with refineries is the "not in my backyard" syndrome. That's the same as with nuclear reactors (did you know that SC has the most reactors per capita than any other state?). Until people realize that it's the only way to stop being hostages to OPEC, it will never change.

Looks like there will be a new on in SD: http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/articles/2008/06/04/news/top/4e608d46402d5adb8625745e00110beb.txt
For $30/hour, they can build one in my back yard.
