As a professional driver myself, I can assure you that the switches in a semi are lit and they don't need to be different shapes or sizes. If toyota just did better job at lighting their switches with dull light we would not be having this issue or discussion.

Regarding the original post. Very nice truck man I second guessed myself as I own a 2015 Toyota Tacoma dclb. I was fortunate enough to get the trail Team Edition in Canada and unfortunately we could not get the TRD pro. I have done some basic modifications to mine and have a list of other stuff. In the end the matter what vehicle they are never perfect or everybody would be buying that one. I hope you enjoy your truck and get a chance to enjoy it off road eventually.

May I suggest looking into the Cooper Discoverer at3 as a very good tire to run. I would also suggest running 20 inch rims with the 275 60 r20 to keep weight down. I will be posting pictures shortly of mine.

My sticker was $36,989 and I don't have chrome tube steps, mud flaps, or special floor mats. And the tow package is included with the tech&premium package.

In your generation truck, the 4wd switch is not illuminated, however it is on mine.

Additionally, I had the discover at3 on my last truck, I thought they were noisy on the highway.

And I'm not concerned about weight, I will not be getting aftermarket wheels.

Had an opportunity to sit in your taco 10/09 before I sat down with Matt M. and ordered a Blk DCLBOR 4x4. Delivery was supposed to be late Nov. Got the bad news and the time frame given now is late Dec to mid Jan or possibly later. Now I know the reason for the wait from your post. Bradford Beach did not look like that today.

According to the window sticker, it was. There was no additional charge aside from the premium and tech package. Perhaps the price was built in to the premium and tech package price.

    That wasn't Bradford beach.

And what reason for the wait are you talking about?

Ah. Well I stand corrected. Just looked at my window sticker. To be honest I didn't care. I didn't pay sticker price anyway lol.

My MSRP with no options was $32,100.00.
    Premium and tech package $2,360.00
    Tonneau cover $650.00
    Towing package $650.00
Carpet floor mats with door sill covers $209.00
    Wheel locks $80.00
    Delivery and handling $900
    Total $36,949.00

My confusion was because you can't get the premium package without the towing package so equipment wise, it's included. Price wise, it's not.

Interesting. I'm not entirely familiar with everything that goes on with Toyota sales, but I know that there's very limited production of particular models, like double cab long bed, or limited trim level.

Another part of the problem is our region. Toyota region office has a say in what kind of trucks our dealerships within the region receive and I think they were very off base with their selections.

The 6MT must be cheaper because base MSRP on the auto is like $34,630

I think you missed the point. If the switches are ergonomical designed for a difference in feel and location, you don't HAVE to look at them, and don't NEED lighting for them. My FJ40 had horrible lighting and I didn't need a light to find H4 or L4, or to feel the difference between the bell shaped heater knob versus the button shaped fan speed.

I understand the argument that if you're the best Supertrucker driver in the world, nothing can go wrong and everything is done correctly and everyone should be perfect....but i've seen confusion in switchology happen. Deny it if you want that's cool.

There's way too much ambient lighting in cockpits today anyways it seems nobody understands how human low light vision works anymore. Less light in the cabin, better you see the road and outside.

Duly noted. I'll make sure to take extra steps to avoid switching into 4 wheel drive if I'm feeling too cold or hot.

I saw your post on another thread today and just wanted to stop by and say Nice Truck - I've got one just like it sans the moon roof -

To answer a few questions some folks had about the options on this truck.

The 2016 MGM DCSB TRD sport comes with a specific build package - everything standard including the MT for base price = $32,100.00 that was the way it was EVERYTHING included stock in that price with dealer prep and shipping extra.

Its the MGM Sport with MT that you get all the goodies that the OP has. The only thing the OP has that is not on the standard on the master list.

    7543 - TRD SPORT DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 M/T - $ 29738 | $ 32100 - I have the 7543 build number on my window sticker and the price was $32100 with taxes tags destination fee added.

I have the MGM that comes with the tow package, sport suspension, MT, hood scoop, Tonneau cover, sport wheels (gone on mine) .... no sun roof

I absolutely LOVE this truck - took me shifting into 2nd gear on test drive and I looked over at the sales guy whom was wide eyed white knuckles on grab handle, I said "SOLD" as I :burnrubber:did a little chirping into 2nd gear ... "let get back to the shop and make this deal". Boom He said "I see you know how to drive a stick" ...

hehe I never owned an automatic and hopefully never will and I'm 57. I did buy an auto for my daughter when she was learning to drive but she drives a Jeep with manual ever since.

Anyways - yeah nice truck and good luck with it.

Here's a pic of my Taco - Fuel wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler G2 265/70R17 - very nice tires too BTW. Have nerf bars am thinking about steel bumpers front and rear. We live in a big city on the edge of town - people like to cut me off in traffic cause they think I'm slow in a pick up..make me slam brakes on ... with steel bumpers I won't be slamming the brakes!!

"Oh darn you scratched the paint on my bumper, oh you don't have insurance, lets call the police then!" hahaha This pic is actually on a fire road in the city (Philadelphia) there's a bunch of fire roads we can go ff road on right in the city. Cant wait for snow!

Since you work at a dealership QUICK question. The MT on the 3rd gen, is it completely redesigned form the MT in the 2nd gen/FJ? I know those had lots of throw out bearing etc issues...

    Thanks

I gotta be honest with ya, I don't have a solid answer on that. I want to say yes, but I'm not 100% certain. I'd have to run a vin number on my tech website on a previous generation tacoma and compare it to mine.
