Those dont look much different as far as "aggressive" sidewalls go from the stock OR tires. I think people like the look of the Mud terrain, duratrac or M/Ts because the tread and sidewalls are aggressive but want something that still rides / handles nice, softer and as relatively quiet as possible for pavement....

I see a few people get pretty up in arms when I say anything negative about their beloved Duratracs. I drove on those tires for 55,000 miles. I think that gives me a little credibility when I talk about them, their performance, and their ultimate demise.

I had a positive experience while driving with them. They were relatively quiet, good wear, dry and snow traction. Their wet traction was ok. Their rock retention and stone drilling was not great. The pictures I provided showed how they failed on me. What I hit did not cut the tire, the flex from whatever the object was split the sidewall. Am I happy with the tires overall perfomance, yes. Would I run the tires knowing what I know now about the sidewall. No. I am also not saying the KO2 is the end all be all tire. I've only run the KO2's for a total of 2,000 miles. That does not give me confidence to say anything about them yet besides they are quieter than the duratracs. I will be able to accuratly review and compare the Duratracs and KO2's when the KO2's have been on my truck for a few more years.

As I think I said earlier, I've had two sets of duratracs on two different trucks and I put a combined 80K+ miles on the two sets of tires. The second set seemed to have some balancing issues and some road noise though not as bad as the Goodyear MTRs I ran previously.... otherwise they were good tires with much better ice/snow/wet pavement performance than the MTRs.

Really? Have you ever driven GY MTRs? I found the MTRs to be way worse than the Duras on wet pavement. For the record I'd probably go with the Nitto Terra Grapplers...wouldn't put Duras on my new Taco. Just want a softer/quieter ride.

Yeah they were great off road (The little I have done) but on wet roads, they sucked really bad. I would probably go for the BFG T KO2 when I need tires for my 2016

Anybody have experience with the Michelin LTX AT2? They don't really look all that badass but have great reviews online.

I am looking for the lightest at tire out there in 17" 32/33 tall.
Don't wont to kill mileage and power.
I don't do much off roading.

I will never buy another set of bfgs after I put 33" ko's on my Cherokee about 5 years ago. I'd slip in the lightest of rain.

The ko2s may be improved, but they can't be by that much. And it sucks because they have such great reviews but I kind of think that people that pay 1k for a set of tires want to believe they are good. That is definitely a factor. That being said, I'm going with AT2s or Terra Grapplers as my next tire to put on my truck when I'm tired of these bridgestones.
