Bought my 14 used and there were paint marks on the bed.

Got her sprayed with Linex and added a Bakflip G2 also. Ahhhhh all better.

Debadged her butt also. Looks a lot cleaner now.

This obviously isn't a mod for everyone, but it works for me!

I recently purchased a set of wheels from Vin at @SCSPerformance and put on new 265/70/17 BFG KO2s. I knew going into it that I needed to remove the front mudflaps. I didn't expect the amount of road spray that would land on the side of my truck.

    So...

Today I decided to try a quick, inexpensive mod. (Not sure if this has been done, so I apologize if someone has posted it before).

I took my stock mudflaps and fired up my dremel.

    Started with:

    image.jpg

Noted where the tire hit the flap on the truck and made a cut:

    image.jpg

After a test fit, the tire still hit:

    image.jpg

Back to the drawing board. I noticed that there was a bulbous notch on the flap where the tire hit. Luckily for me, it wasn't structurally significant. I removed it:

    image.jpg

Put it back on the truck... Success!

    image.jpg

    Total cost of mod: $0

I ended up cutting off one screw mounting hole on the flap and retained 2 screw mounting points and the 3 body clips.

I initially tried to save more of the flap to protect the undercarriage, but there wasn't enough rigidity in the remaining portion. I cleaned up the cuts with the dremel sanding attachment.

As I eluded to, this mod won't be for everyone but it was free and provided the protection I was looking for.

    Here is the result:

Did two things today... One was wire in a switch so I can view my back up camera on my touchscreen not only when it's in reverse but whenever I want as well. And second was putting brighter 50 watt bulbs in reverse lights... Happy happy happy :) sad news is I have an antifreeze leak but not dripping, worried it's burning it. Only 85,000 km on it and it's an 07 v6. Getting it pressure tested Monday.

If you ever feel like making a write up for the backup camera switch, it'd be much appreciated!

    - Replaced the rear window on my cap
    - Got my free Sport wheels broken down and a spare 265/65-17 mounted on one of em for a full size spare
    - Did my first round of Fluid Film for the season (treatment #4 overall). I still need touch up the frame and box sections as well as do the doors, fender lips and tailgate, but it's a good start.

Do you still see it the camera view from the rear view when the switch is not flipped?

Well heres the deal... I put the 2013 touch screen in, installed the tailgate handle and camera ( as the 07 had no camera) ran a wire harness from tail gate to touch screen but I am missing 4 pins to complete the install... pins in the mail. The touch screen works with the 16 pin connector on the back for camera input and a reverse signal going two pin #2 on 28 pin connector beside it. Once pin 2 on the 28 pin connector senses 12 v it turns on the camera. What I've done is installed a switch that takes the reverse signal (tapped from right hand side kick panel) and sends it to the #2 pin on 28 pin connector while the switch is in the OFF position, when switch is in the on position it receives the 12v signal from a wire I tapped into the 12 v aux plug and should turn the camera on when I want. In theory should work. Won't know until I finish the 4 pins that I'm waiting on. I believe the switch I used is a 3 pole single throw switch. Has 9 pins on bottom, I only used three. Middle goes to pin 2 on 28 pin connector and either right or left goes to either of the two 12 v signals. It's only a two position switch. Confirmed with multi meter once it was installed that i was getting the 12 v signal properly in each switch position.

My back up camera will only be viewed on touchscreen as I don't have the stock mirror with camera display. 07 didn't have it.
