I got my ECU reflashed today as well. On the service order my SA wrote:
It seems to have made a difference and I agree it does shift smoother between 2nd and 1st gears.

+ Reps sent to 5Sport and luni. Thanks!!!

Once it is released up here, I'd just try going into the service department with a summary of the TSB, explain how you've experienced the problems that it addresses, make sure that your VIN is one of the ones covered by the TSB and see if you can make an appointment to have the reflash done.

I can't imagine why any service department wouldn't perform the TSB if you make an appointment and talk to a service advisor about it before hand. I'm sure they get to charge Toyota for the reflash and that they'll make some dough off of it. If you are lucky, maybe they can do it right then. Quite often though, they are booked with appointments for the whole day (at least around here they are) and in that case, I can see why they wouldn't be able to just run out and do it. I know I'd be a little peeved if my appointment got bumped because of a drop in, LOL :)

    None, yet.
I am having the same problem. I was just at the dealer today to get my radio looked at and they didn't say anything about it.

My 2010 does it, mostly on right turns when I get on the throttle a little hard after making the turn. If I'm gentle with it, though, the problem isn't nearly as bad.

Something else I've noticed is a slight vibration or shudder from a standing start, and it seems to come just before the 1-2 shift. The intensity seems to vary depending on how much throttle I give it and whether I'm on the level or going uphill or downhill. I wonder if the two are related.

Thanks to all that contributed to this thread. Got mine done this morning and WOW! Is that what a working transmision is suppoesed to feel like? It feels much better through the entire range now especially in the 1st and 2nd gear change while turning. I don't think the 4th to 5th gear change has completely gone for me with this TSB. I still have 4th and 5th fighting back and forth while city driving. Just an observation.

    Thanks to all again!

In the waiting room getting mine done right now. New phone makes waiting easier.

Your 4/5 gear searching is b/c of the bigger tires. I had the same problem when I ran 285/70/17s. Regearing fixes it.

Good to know, thanks. I have been thinking about re-gearing but have not come to any situation yet that is begging for the work to get done. Don't yet about it and time will tell if in the end I will go through with it.

But for sure, GET THIS DONE IF YOU CAN EVERYONE!

Out of the dealership and I can tell its better in the short drive around the corner. The reflash is underneath the supercharger reflash on TIS. Definitely worth it. Didn't realize how dumb the old shift points were. It stayed in gear way to long before.

I dropped by my local dealership this morning, just to see if the service manager was in. He wasn't, so I asked the historically-bitchy girl that works the service reception if I could talk to a tech when he was available. He searched for a while and couldn't find the TSB number/details I gave him. I'll talk to the service manager when he's back next week. Hopefully it'll be available.

Oh, is there a special Canadian TSB number? Or are all TSBs the same across North America?

Edit: never mind, read some other Canuck posts on page 10. Will sit tight for now.

You're going to say I'm a dumbass but screw it...
After having my 2009 for a couple of months I've adjusted to the transmission and can anticipate what it is going to do. I actually don't mind the quirks that it has and it is not an annoyance, a truck is a truck afterall, no matter how much I paid for it. So, that being said, are there any repercussions to just leaving it alone?

I am in the Military, ANCOC at FT Gordon and they Milton did my reflash w/o an APT. Drove in told them 2-1ST was shifting rough mentioned the TSB. At first got a little run around about people comming in w/ TSB ect but with a bit of kindness and a smile was assisted. I haven't drove much so haven't noticed pro or con, tom I will drive a bit more and see if it has improved. Many thanks to the cat that put this out and to the cats that called BS, YOU NEED TO CHILL till you know that facts.

I think one repercussion might be when you try to sell it. The buyer might be like "why the hell does this shift so wierd?"

Yeah, hopefully we can get it soon as it sounds like everyone who has had it done is happy. Obviously our trucks have the same characteristics so I can't see any reason why it would be a US only thing.

Sorry for a stupid question but when all of you say "subscribed"... what exactly does that mean in this context?
