Having a sqeeking noise when driving after lift

Hey guys,

I just put my lift in on monday and hadn't heard this til now.........when im driving i'm hearing a squeeking.....nothing major but enough to annoy me.

its not necessarily on a bump...but when driving.......this is what i did


camburg coilovers with upper a-arms

all pro leaf springs in the rear.

it sounds like the sqeeking in coming from the front but not positive.....also on the UCA i only put the grease they gave in the nipple......


also i sprayed anti corrosion spray on the coilovers and a-arms


has anyone experienced this squeeking???

also when i step in the bed the leafs make noise...is this just part of the break in period....thank fo all your help!!

 

yeah.....wd40 will work, also, maybe try some dry moly lubricant or some white lithium grease on the rear springs and the uca, as this stuff wont slide off, and it penetrates pretty good.

 

yeah.....shoulda added that. its actually decent for the spring bushings and such though. and yeah, the mobil1 grease is pretty good. great for packing between the leaf spring leafs for quietening them down(especially if you pressure wash the hell outta them after mudding and they start squeaking then).

 

thanks so much guys i appreciate the feedback...i think i need to get to the UCA's with a greast gun in the fitting.....since i haven't done that yet. i only used the little packet of grease to fill it.

i will def do that to the rear tho.

and i will wipe off the the white lithium grease i put on the uniball tonight haha since i did think that was the problem too. thank you

 

one more thing, if this doesnt seem to get rid of the noise, it might be the sway bar bushings- mine does it once in a while, especially when navigating a parking lot with sharp turning.

 

I wiped off the lithium grease off the uniball pretty good (still some on there), sprayed some tri-flow on the uniball, greased the bushing with the lucas red grease.....and it still sqeeking.

The only other thing i can think of is that i sprayed anticorrosion spray on The mcoil-overs and a-arms and def hit the uniball.......i know this creates a coating so is this stopping the tri-flow from penetrating???

is there something i can use to get rid of the coating on the uniball???


i know they're known to squeek but i'm trying to see what i can do to get rid of it

 

will doe that....also will lubing the bolt that goes throught the uniball do anything??

 

depends...what is the correct value for that bolt......and als what should the long bolt going through the UCA be torqued to??

 

yea camburg doesn't have instructions with theirs but i read on and install that 85lb is good i'll do that and trouble shoot today...


and BTW my truck is so stiff that it won't bounce up and down. apparently the coil-overs haven't settled yet

 

not sure the ratings...i'm only at about 2.5", of lift. they can go as high as 3.5" but not reccomended

 

All set with the squeek ...i figured everything out......Sway-Bar bushing is what caused the squeeking. put some tri-flow on it and its all set thanks everyone
