Nothing to get unglued over though. :D

I bet there is a purchasing agent in Texas looking for a job or a new supplier of glue.

Your comment is valid though. Without taxes I am in for around $42K which ought to buy more than an unglued hood.

I noticed this on the test drive I did two months ago. There was quite a bit of flex in the hood and it wasn't a sport with the scoop.

I will provide an update but I'll be out of town and won't be able to get it to the dealer for another week.

The adhesive on mine is separated in places also. I'll call Toyota on Monday then see if they need me to take to the dealer to confirm. Don't see a point in leaving it with them since they can't fix it at this point.

Mine appears to have glue blobs in 6 spots from what I can see. One of them (3rd one in from driver's side) seems to be separated. The rest seem ok.

There are other spots where it looks like it should maybe have blobs of adhesive but it doesn't. I'm assuming all the circular spots on the brace should have it. Dunno.

I'll probably mention for them to look at it during my first oil change, but I'm not worried now.

I am guessing the fix will be for dealers to add some adhesive to the spots where its failed. I think they don't need to compress anything together, just join the support to the hood.

Why shouldn't the dealers be able to fix it?

Because I suspect they'll have to wait for Toyota to come with some standardized fix.

It's not a safety issue at all. There may be a TSB or they just address the problem for those that complain. It's a pretty minor issue.

It's a really minor issue right now. In a few years when a bunch of non-scoop hoods have the same pattern of cracked paint because the panel is flexing constantly, it could be a BFD.

Checked my hood "welds" They are fine. Maybe the Sport hood uses a different set of rules?

I would think the sport hood would be more rigid due to the "hood scoop"
