My truck runs at under 2500rpm most of the week. Power is more than adequate. If I wanted low end grunt I'd have bought a 800+ ft lb full size diesel.

If you're buying a vehicle you should know what you're getting into. Don't like the power, don't buy it. Don't buy it and then bitch on Internet forums after the fact

If you wanted more power you should have gotten a different truck.

I've noticed that when something negative about the 3G comes up, the general consensus is something like "See, I told you so!! POS 3rd gen!!" When the 2016 is shown in a positive light, it goes more like "These numbers don't mean anything!!".
Can someone please pass the haterade? I'm parched.

Yeah, all I can hear in our echo chamber is the sound of flip-flopping.

What ever happened to the quality forums where you could have reasonable, in depth technical analysis and discussion backed up by both data and subjective opinion? Most around here just act like argumentative children rather than contributing.

    It is infuriating.

0-60 still a useful spec for a pickup. You have to drive the thing on the road/interstate.

Saying it's a NOT sportscar is obvious. Got it. Still nice to know how fast it can move. It's really not complicated people.

If the spec is meaningless to you, then ignore it! Have a happy life and may you have less stress!

Within reason. In case you haven' noticed, These are put up agaisnt F150 s with 0-60 times that rival most cars. Yes, everyone wants a truck that performs well. The biggest selling trucks are not the ones that are most like trucks ( toyota) they are the ones that are a little more like cars.

yes, they do matter (to some people). Its a measure of performance, and i couldnt drive something if it was dirt slow,

Some people need to find the best compromise for THEIR needs (not yours or anyone elses).

I love my truck as its a good compromise, but i do wish it was a bit quicker than it is for the mpg it gets. If i baby it i get 22/23mpg, if i push it i average 17.5ish. Thats decent for a "big"mid sized truck. They could have easily had 300hp with 285+ft.lbs in this thing and i bet the mpg difference would be negligible. Im sure they set it where it is so they can remap in a couple years to increase #s to sell more trucks.

IMO it is the lack of immediate acceleration. Once it is held down it comes on strong. Most vehicles do not have that lag.

Thats funny cause yesterday at a stop sign there was an F-250 turbo diesel with a big ass trailer and he wanted to ya know beat me off the line - it was close but I hammered down to take the lead.... I bet he was laughing his ass off, it was close !! I was surprised specially with the big ass trailer he was towing.

"big ass trailer" sounds like an even match up.

    I'll race you 1/8 or 1/4 for $1000 in my G8 if you're game.
