Just had the first opportunity to get my wife's new sport out for a 130 mile run down the interstate @ 80 mph. I am not noticing any of the issues that people are complaining about on this forum. Yes the truck does shift gears depending on hills etc....it is not a torque monster diesel. It is a 3.5L 6 cyl. The shifting is so smooth and the cab so quiet that that with the audio on a low level the only way I knew it was shifting was by looking at the tach. STOP looking at the tach. If I didnt focus on it then it went away. My gen 2 4.0L auto is WORSE! Maybe thats just because it is so much louder! Interstate on ramps only required half throttle and I was moving. The whole trip I never used more than half throttle and that was plenty to deal with traffic. I dont understand the whole power thing with people. I must be getting old.....I feel no need to bake the rear tires from a stop light.

    I didnt have any vibrations
    No excelleration issues
    No power issues
    No oil spewing out
    No bolts flying off
    No entune exploding
    No fuel pressure issues
    No alignment issues
    No wind noise issues
    No engine surging issues
    No whistling sounds

I must have one of the rare Tacoma builds that has a completely satisfied customer. The drive was an EXTREMELY pleasant experience and although I love my 2005 (and will keep it indefinitely) it is no where near the pleasure to drive as the gen 3 sport

This is a great post...the thread title being obviously tongue in cheek made me laugh out loud.

Your issues will come later......Hee hee....

Actually I cannot feel the truck shifting either. Sometimes when coming to a stop I may feel it drop into second or first. But otherwise very smooth...Yes indeed the JBL System cures more than a few ills......

What does having JBL audio have to do with the transmission?

I think the post is great and the tongue in cheek title was awesome! Good job mudsweatngears!!!

FWIW- I love mine too. Haven't had any of the problems frequently mentioned around here. As a matter of fact, even put an extang solid fold 2.0 tonneau on mine and it doesn't leak.

Can you post pics of the positioning of your cover on the bed rails in the Solid Fold thread? I have a feeling this has a lot to do with water issues.

I'm playing with mine to get the right spot on the bed rails.
