    Here's a weird one:
So yesterday I went to replace my dome light bulb with an LED... ended up putting it in backwards (stupid mistake) and blew the 7.5A fuse. So I put in a new fuse, and great, no problems. Now, the dome lights won't turn off automatically with the doors being shut or when I start the engine. I put the original bulb back in and same thing. Any ideas!?

does the fixture have an 'on' feature? As in off, on, door?

The main dome light has ON and DOOR. The second dome lights by the rearview mirror have ON, DOOR and OFF. This OFF switch also controls the main dome light. It's OFF right now because whether it's on DOOR or ON, all the lights stay on.

The lights remain on in every condition (door open, door closed, engine on, engine off). They'll only turn off if I set the switch to OFF.

Yeah the first thing I did was put in another 7.5A fuse. Checked all the door switches etc. They only go out after 20 mins.

The lights are probably programmed to stay on for a few seconds when the switch is set to door. They should turn off automatically after 30 or if you have the key fob hit the lock button twice and they'll shut off. At least that's how my Runner works.

That's how they worked up until now. Now they all stay on no matter what. ONLY when I physically turn the switch off do they turn off. Even when I'm in gear, or if I lock with the fob, they remain on.

Try this, start Taco, turn on headlights, doors closed, overhead interior light switch in middle position. Turn off Taco, leave lights on, exit Taco, close driver door and wait. Headlights and interior lights should go off after about 60 seconds. I thought things were wonky on mine until someone told me to try this. If your interior lights are still on after a minute and the overhead switch is set to middle position, then there must be a separate module for interior lights. The fuse does NOT make a difference on continuity, only by amperage of the load, a higher amp rating means danger to the circuit if overloaded.

If I use the FOB to lock doors everything turns off immediately.

Also check your dimmer control to see if sonething is wonky there.

    Hope it is something simple

I would disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and see if something resets.

Your first 3 'conditions' sound exactly right to me.

So you left out a 'condition' or two to jump to the last sentence?

I'd try disconnecting the battery for a bit like frito suggested. Usually that resets the computer after about 15-30 min. Just take the negative off first..

I had something similar happen once; lasted a day.

When the lights stay on, are they at half dim? Flickering?

    To be announced
Short to ground , maybe you melted a ground wire so as long as there is a ground your lights stay on when you have power running through the circuit

    remember
It takes 1 amp to push 1volt throught 1 ohm of resistance
