    Thanks, man!

I had to lose the front flaps and small air dams. I went with RokBlokz flaps for oversized tires, but they're really not high, wide, or long enough. I'm gonna fab my own flaps once I can source some proper and robust material. I had to trim the little nobs off the front of the inner skirt, and a little off the lower backside of the flares. The only rub I get is when I go into an on or off ramp a little too hot. I think I could also use/do a cab mount chop, but I'm thinking that by going up a touch more with the Icons should solve any clearance issues.

I used Krylon Industrial (Rust check) Satin Black to paint the frame. It dries real fast and looks factory.

A slim 6" to 9" flood LED is next to install in the upper middle space of the Back Rack. Since I raised the rack with the tonneau adapters, it won't hide the 3rd brake light. I want to route the wires through the tubes in the rack.

... and I have yet to install the FLTrucks head unit that's been sitting in my office since last Christmas.

    Did an oil change today.

Was excited as I was about to use my Fumoto valve for the first time. They claim that you don't get any oil on your hands.

    - nosed truck into garage
    - placed oil catch pan on floor under truck
    - opened the Fumoto valve... worked great, as I didn't get a spec of oil on my hands while draining the oil pan.
    - placed an empty water bottle under the oil filter catch tray drain and started to remove the filter
    - forgot to remove the black drain cap and the filter tray almost overflowed
    - screwed the filter back down (then wiped oil off my hands)
    - removed the black cap, but it fell into the bottle (I thought it fell on the floor)
    - wiped some more oil off my hands
    - removed the filter and let it drain into the bottle
    - put a thin film of oil on the filter gasket and replaced filter
    - wiped the fucking oil off my hands
    - closed the Fumoto valve and replaced the oil
    - checked oil and backed truck out of the garage
    - drained used oil back into the jug
    - looked for that little bastard cap
    - realized that the water bottle was still under the hood with the little black cap in it
    - retrieved water bottle and slowly poured out the oil into the jug
    - fucking filter catch drain cap slipped through my oily fingers and fell back into the fucking jug
    - wiped more fucking oil off my hands
    - poured the used oil and little fucking black cap out of the jug back into the oil catch pan
    - fished the MF cap out of the oil catch pan
    - wiped MF oil off my fucking hands again
    - reinstalled the little bastard cap
    - wiped more go**amn fucking oil off my hands
    - went back to the garage and poured the fucking used oil out of the fucking catch pan back into the go**damn jug again
    - brought the MF catch pan to the back of the garage
    - as I came around the corner (wiping my hands of course) to go back into the fucking garage, I kicked the go**amn MF open jug that my wife moved onto the gravel driveway while I was out back
    - wiped up and closed the fucking jug, wiped fucking oil off my hands, poured a cup of gasoline on the fucking spilled oil, set that afire, walked over to the truck, removed the little MF go**amn black cap and threw it into the bush

... smiled, and wiped the oil off my hands.

    Fuck you, Fumoto.

I've been receiving a few PM's about the suspension and how it rides. So...

My truck definitely rides stiffer than stock, but that is mostly due to the MT 285/70/17 'E'' rated tires, which have triple Kevlar sidewalls. NVH is right out the window with this puppy.

The Icon lift goes from stiff to soft (digressive) the harder that you run it. I run a lot of washboard gravel, logging roads, bounce through farmers' fields, and tow, so that suits my purpose. I don't rattle my teeth and hurt my back. Please note that I have also put oversized All Pro sway bar endlinks up front to prevent plowing (understeer) while pulling a trailer, and a 2" AAL with Air Lift bags (inflatable/adjustable) in the rear to eliminate sag in the rear while under load. This is a work truck.

    (NEW PICS GO HERE)

Ignore the slimely mess, it is Krown rust proofing.

I believe that a similar Fox suspension is progressive (soft to stiff) and stiffens up the harder that you run it. Therefore it should be soft on highway driving, yet stiffen up when you take it off road and put it to work/play.

    I hope this helps.

The mall armor is from Avid Off Road... a vendor here.

    The grille:

From a dealer, but I negotiated for the headlights at the same time.

The grille is still pricey, but what are your other options? ... unless you want to chop up shite.

I mocked up an RTMR box and switch panel over the past few days... I used VHT Wrinkle Plus paint. Whatever you do, don't primer the metal beforehand, as the darn paint won't wrinkle. I had to strip the plates with lacquer thinner and do them again.

    rtmr_switch_panel_zps8fq7e00b_f78c483a74a8ca46106e69b756671b28ca795607.jpg

    ... and test fit...

    rtmr_zpshnvkn8bv_2ac3e2080c4d4de1b35f6d295e0a69ef33fc7e41.jpg

    Putting on:

    - rear bumper flush mount pods
    - 32" LED stealth behind lower grill
    - 50" radius on roof

The LED's below have been either sold or up for sale.

    led_parts_zpsyeirjufw_0e264cc36e7ec5c19520e6a7d3bc77c47eaab5fc.jpg

Now saving up nickels (no pennies in Canada) to get my switches, 32" LED bar for the lower grille, and 50" radius light bar mounted on Relentless Fab roof rail mounts.

Rome wasn't built in a day!

    Nice truck man!

Question about your new switch panel, does it get screwed in or just press fit kinda deal? Ran out room for switches, and may need to add some more, and this seems like an easier solution that running it to the overhead sunglasses holder.

Thanks. Do you think it would pop out when off-roading or rough roads. Really my only concern with that design

Radio looks good by the way!

I'm going to put some edge trim on the switch panel to make it fit tighter. It's snug as it is now, so I doubt that it'll pop out.

Thanks! ... that radio is pretty slick.

My HU suddenly locked out my phone. I eventually figured it out. It was in the Bluetooth device list, but I had to reconnect it to the phone.
    Anyone else have this problem?

Now I have to voice train the HU for voice to text.

I think that Enterprise gave me the same Silverado back in September, in Burlington, when i had work done with my Tacoma. You are correct, it was a steaming pile of poop compared to what i was used to.

    Thanks, man.

As for the rental Silverado that I had, I bumped a freakin' Saturn door with the left front bumper when I backed out (and swung to the right) from my buddy's driveway. (She had come in after me and parked in my blindspot.) It shattered the plastic door skin on the Saturn with the left front bumper and moved the whole truck bumper to the right about 1". I went home and parked the truck close to my garage, sat down on the ground, put my back against the garage and pushed the bumper back in place with my two feet pushing against the opposite end of the bumper. I touched up the scuff on the bumper with a magic marker. It was pissing rain when I brought the truck back, and as I pulled into the lot, one of their cube vans was broadsided by another as it pulled into the lot as well. The manager took a quick walk around in the pouring rain and cleared the truck, then ran over to the cube van that had front wheels pointing in opposite directions.

Saturn door cost me nothing as another buddy gave me a whole car to strip. I took what I needed and brought the rest to the wreckers. I bought some beer, whiskey, ice, and mix with the money and dropped it off at buddy's shop. I replaced the Saturn door (same colour) and also excavated the back of her foundation to replace a plugged weeping tile as a sorry note. I got a nice BBQ steak and beer for that.

I got away with that one.

    2 - M10 x 1.25 x 50mm bolts (8.8 grade)
    2- 1/2" x 5/8" x 1" steel spacers
4 - washers from my washer bin

    Total - $5

And to keep our butts comfy warm in the winter, although I do have heated seats:

The rear headrest covers do not fit at all. They do not cover the headrest, nor do they have slots to accommodate the fold down levers. The center headrest cover looks like a shower cap. I'm phoning them tomorrow.
