Window tint, Go-rhino nerf bars, 32 inch Caliraised LED light bar, LED conversion, Caliraised amber LED fogs, Billstein 5100’s at 1.1 inch lift, Empyre off-road grill, Tacoma tailgate inserts, black TRD 4Runner rims/Falken ATs, ASV window visors and pedal commander programmer
Is this just the billstein lift in the front set at 1.75?? nothing done to the rear? And do you notice anything different in ride quality

With a 4x4 you're pretty much limited to 3 or 6 inches, I believe. That said, the options are about the same as the 2nd gen so I guess it's best to first decide your budged and from there assess the intended use of the truck. I'm running a 3 inch Icon stage 5 on my truck which is totally overkill for what I use it for, however I have the added piece of mind in knowing that I have an extremely reliable setup that also offers great ride quality.

4 inches is just kind of an odd size that doesn't really exist without over cranking some coil overs sacrificing ride quality and down travel. There is a 5 inch spindle lift but that's for pre runners only. 6 inch lift will be a drop bracket kit which isn't really my cup of tea, but some people like them. Again it really boils down to what you want to spend and how you intend on using the truck.

Feel free to pm me with any questions

Bilsteins 5100s on all 4, but only the front has a lift at 1.75. Ride quality is great and a bit more firm than stock.

can anyone tell me what the difference between a OEM lift and say a toytec, what are the pros and cons of either one?I was just going to go with the bilstein 5100's up front, but I think I might want a little more height, will a 265/75/16 look funky with a bigger lift than just leveling it.This is the look I'm going for,its a photoshop rendering of my build, but these tires are probably closer to a 285???????

Toytec has adjustable front coilovers that you cant set for 1-3" of lift. Their full lift kit comes with either blocks or add a leaf spring depending on how high you want to lift the rear.

OME swaps the front coil springs to achieve the desired amount of lift (884, 885,..) and then adds 4 new long travel shocks. The rears are replaced with a new full dakar leaf pack.

The full new leaf pack in the rear is superior to the blocks and add a leaf on the toytec. The front setup is a tossup, but the toytec being adjustable is certainly nice if you want to go up or down on demand. You don't have to buy the full kit as they sell it. You can buy toytec coilovers for the front and dakar leafs for the rear.

Those pictured are 285's. 265's will look a hair to small on full 2 1/2"-3" lift, but would still be ok. 285's are perfect imo. You could also do 255/85r16's. You will likely have to do UCA's as well for the full 3".

Wanting to pull the trigger on this, any thoughts? Such as ride quality vs stock sport ride, any issues?

I was under the assumption that it was needed for 4x4 models, due to excessive angles. Is there a down side to it, or does it not work on the 16s
    ?

Just installed my 885's (full OME setup - 90021 and 60091) today without any issue. Super happy with the outcome. Checkout the "Lifted 16 Tacoma's" page for my post. I'll be creating a build page soon.

Recommendation for front coils on a 2016 DCSB? Not looking to add any additional weight. Don't want it to be too stiff and I notice the toytec and eibach both list 620lb for extra weight for the 05 - 2015 models. But i see the 2016 is supposed to be heavier curb weight? wasn't sure if i should look into the 885s since they are 590b?

Originally I went with adjustable front shocks which compress stock springs to et height ,,, wayyyyyy to stiff,, am going to install 885 next week ,,,,, seems to be a popular route

I ordered the 5100 set, is that what you have? You have the 2016 dcsb?

I do have the dcsb 16,, for shocks I went with these guys for all my shocks and air bags

    http://www.airsuspension.ca/boss_shocks.php

Great looking shock well built and easy to work with ,,
I would NOT recommend using the 2016 stock spring like we did in previous years on the billies,, I had that setup on my 2014 at 1.75 and I loved it,, basically did the same with these shocks and springs and way too stiff,, maybe with an arb bumper , winch and front dirt bike mount lol,,, they seem to have went with a new heavier spring this year to get the 1" extra height from gen2 ,,trying to save a few bucks cost me a few more at the end of the day,,, will do install myself and pay for a 2nd alignment ,,or maybe barter with beer and beef jerky :)
    image.jpg
Current setup with stock spring,,I was there when he installed these springs and he said he has never seen his machine bend before ,, and it was with these springs,, should've been a clue there ,, oh well live and learn ,, move forward ,

You think the toytec springs w/ 5100s would be okay at the 620lb rating?

Plan was toytec coil and top spacer w/ 5100 for full 3".

I believe you would be a lot happier with that than trying what i did and compressing the stocks ,,, it will deffinatly ride stiffer than stock ,,, other than that sir I have no other experience with them ,, hopefully this will save someone else some grief in there descison making process

Yup! Just measured the front and backs both measured 23.25". Super happy with the outcome - just the look I wanted.

Ps. If anyone wants to buy my oem shocks (600 miles) pm me! I'll be posting on the classifieds shortly.
