So a friend is getting rid of his Method double standard with bfg at 285/75/16. Would those fit on my stock 16 Trd sport 4x4 until I can lift it? He's looking to go back to stock and wants my wheels in trade.

    Thanks
This is his truck as it sits. He's taken off his lift and said its not running with the stock setup.

It will fit but I wouldn't off road with it until you lift it or you'll rub

Any cons or downfalls to go down to a 16inch wheel? And how much lift would be ideal? I was looking to do a ome lift.

16 inch is better for more sidewall offroading. No downsides. 3" lift would probably be ideal for 285s

They will fit as long as you swap out UCAs as well. I assume that's Ryan's truck. He should also be getting rid of his UCAs, in which case I would get them too. You'll need to chop the body mount and trim some plastic. That's not specific to those wheels, that's the case with any wheel with a 33" tire.

Even with the 3rd gen? From what I've red they sit a little higher than the 2nd gen. I've messaged him about lift components but waiting on a response. Can I swap the wheels and keep it stock for a month or 2 until I get it lifted?

Yes someone ran 285s on a stock 16.there's more clearance, but you will rub flexing out which dding won't be a problem for the time being.

Would I be able to make my tpms work with these?

The height of the truck is irrelevant. The issue is the factory UCA has a lip that sticks out further than a TC or icon UCA and will rub on the sidewall. From what I understand the body mount on the 3rd gen is the same so you'll need to chop it if you ever want to wheel or reverse at full lock, with or without a lift. Your tpms will work with with them.

Actually scratch that. They may fit with the factory UCAs. I was thinking about fitting 285s with factory wheels.

Even better. Uca are will be done when I do the lift but if it can wait a month or two that would be best. Does that mean I can do light wheeling in the meantime? Lol
