help with rough idle

    irregular miss at idle which is around 700rpm. new plugs, newish wires, does octane matter in these trucks? I run 85:confused:

    it was on a week ago with codes for #3 cyl missfire and o2 sensor. then i changed the plugs and reset the comp and the light stayed off. 149000k

    it never dies but its quite irritating and noticeable. if i raise the rpm's by even 50 it runs smooth. could the idle be set too low?

    Idle is electronically controled. Check for vacuum leaks, or disconnected vacuum lines.

    what about the cable adjustment on the throttle body? hmm vaccum lines do sound like the most plausible reason.

    That wont make the idle rough. It should be smooth at that RPM with a slight "burble" now and then at most.

    well that "burble" is about every 2-3 seconds, and do you still have ur cummins?

    I have just recently developed a similar issue where the idle is low and rough around 500 rpm... it use to be a bit higher... thoughts?

    Normal idle for the 1GR-FE after warmed up is 500 rpm or so.
