Any of you guys here stuck on which lift to purchase? I'm personally stuck between a progressive (Fox,King) and digressive setup (Bilstein, Icon), but would like to go for a ride and see how each ride before purchasing. We could expand lifts to OME, and whatever other brands we are interested in. I figured we could do a meetup, have people get a feel for different suspensions, and maybe grab a couple beers or something afterwards if anyone is interested.

Why not just pick the OME over the kings/fox/icons? It's cheaper, has a lifetime warranty and does what you need it to do. If you actually use the 3 c/o's for what they were made for (which you probably won't) they need to be rebuilt every so often.

I have heard it countless times that OME doesn't ride as well as CO's. I'm looking for a great ride on road, and be able to handle washboards, bumps, without knocking fillings out. Do you run OME?

Yes .. And have run kings .. And have icons waiting to be installed. For the different in price (you can get a full OME setup front to back for what you pay for just front CO's) it's just not worth it.

So you have Icon's "waiting to be installed"? I'm confused. You have a progressive setup, digressive setup, and then a lower end setup that you currently run. So then you are putting the Icons on at some point? There is no way an OME setup handles tough shit and is as smooth as Icon or King. And revalving is cheaper than buying all new shocks/coilovers.

Protip: if you're going to go coil over route, go fox. Better performance and a less painful price point

Just look at the build thread
I would hardly call OME a lower end setup.

    It's lower end than CO's, that's what I meant.

Just word of mouth from people here on TW. Majority of what I have heard is that they are not as smooth, can be stiff, and can't handle bumps as well as coilovers. That's the reason I started this thread, to actually see how they ride.

No. They are not "waiting to be installed", they are on my garage floor waiting to be installed, without the quotes that is. I am curious though, you created a thread asking for which lift to buy because you've obviously never driven a lifted truck without blocks and spacers. So my next question to you is, why are you questioning someone that has? And not only questioning them, but saying shit like "There is no way an OME setup handles tough shit and is as smooth as Icon or King." ... but if you already know this, why did you make a thread? You are correct, OME doesn't handle go fast speed stuff like kings and icons or even foxes. But to that argument, if you wanted to do that - you are in the wrong state for it. There is no terrain here for it. So it's a waste of money. Also if you wanted to do that to your truck, you will need a lot more shit other than front CO's. For wheeling like that the REAR setup is more important than the front, what then? You ALSO said "I'm looking for a great ride on road", my OME rides just like the kings did. They had 700# coils on them with some pre-load. I can't even tell the difference. I've gone down washboard roads at 70 MPH on my OME setup and it handles fine. But if you can give me any sort of logical counter argument to what I've said please do, otherwise I think you just want the bling factor over a quality lift that will do what you need it to do.

All CO's will run you over $1k.. that's just for the front CO's, not factoring other stuff like UCAs, and even a rear setup. All 3 of those aside, and you're forgetting another quality CO which is ADS, you have to factor in rebuilding which I'm sure the OP has never done and would pay someone to do. Let me give you a quote because I've had DSM rebuild 2 sets of CO's and have a recent quote for a 3rd:
So for go fast stuff, this rebuild is every 40k miles or 2 years which not including shipping will cost you $1500 over 10 years which would buy a whole brand new OME setup front to back AND then some. OME comes with a lifetime warranty and I personally haven't had anything of theirs break on me yet.

Well you can try to post logical answers to relatively repetitive questions that come up every now and then but when I get trolls like the OP I just have to kick their ass over the internet and let them do what they want. He's already made his mind up at this point anyway.
