Gun parlor is decent, been in a couple times but haven't bought anything from them, they have a decent selection. Guy from work just bought a VP 40 there last weekend.. Said their prices were fair. Fiancé got me a membership to their range.. Hopefully it opens soon.

Bought a shield 9mm from Pullman arms on the north side of town.. It's a smaller place and they were easy to work with.

Everyone raves about this place.. Haven't made it up there yet though.

 

Went pheasant hunting today with the dog. Her first time out. Without training, she had a good idea what was going on and what she was supposed to do. Flushed out a hen, and took a shot but I can't seem to hit the side of a barn with a shotgun. Had my childhood H&R single 20 ga as I figured the 870 would be too heavy while managing the dog on her 25ft lead. Of course, the dog wasn't too happy with the bang. Stopped and crapped right after and then I had a heck of a time getting her to go out in front. I guess she expected me to flush out the birds for her... All we caught were LOTs of ticks. Most were deer tick too. Dog must have had at least 2 dozen maybe even more. I had quite a few on me as well.

Alex - make sure you are certain of the NY laws before you take on there. Having a Masshole accent at rieckers island probably isn't the best thing to do.

I went to four seasons I wasn't impressed or unimpressed. Typical MA gun shop just have a bigger internet presence that brings in more people. They were mobbed while I was in there however. The one shop that is super cool is beacon trading post. He's only open a couple hours a week but he has really cool stuff. Hung out for about an hour he practically shoved stuff into my hands. Got to handle some guns in the 5000$ plus range HK416 some suitcase rifle completely done in nickel plating. Plus all the handguns I had never really seen had to refrain from buying a CZ on the spot. If you can get in there when he's open its worth it if your in the market.

Well I had the worst weekend ever. My dad had a very bad weekend and passed away yesterday

My dad fell out of his bed at the rehabilitation center he was in at brought to the local ER. He was very sick so we had him moved to RI hospital where he was treated for his recent heart attack he had a couple of weeks ago. We had a lot of difficult decisions to make but after him not responding to any of the medicines or treatments we had decided to let nature take it's course and my father passed away yesterday at about 4:15 in the afternoon.
I am taking my mom to the funeral home today. A lot more difficult decisions to make but a least dad's not hurting anymore.
