Nice bike man! Pivot makes a great product. I've got their carbon phoenix and I absolutely love it. I love that they are local too, makes it really easy to demo their bikes pretty much anytime

I'm down. Definitely can get some serious climbing in there. The downhills are so worth it.

You can get a chainguide like this:
    image.jpg

You just have to take the drive side BB cup out using a BB tool.

Or you can run a chainring like this:
    image.jpg

The Narrow Wide chain ring works very well, is cheaper and easier too install.

I run both, only because I had the chainring before and the bike came with a chainguide.

I had a guide similar to that one before. I hated it. It was loud because the chain has to be against that roller. It was also a pain in the ass to drop the chain intentionally of you wanted to do maintenance on the front of the drive train. Also, since friction is the only thing keeping them in place, if you whack them really good on a rock, they move.

I can't believe how long I rode a 26" hard tail. We recently left the 29" full suspension bikes at home and had an "old school" 26" ride. After the ride I told my friend "if my Trek carbon XT/XTR 26er fell off the rack don't bother stopping."

First ride since I broke my arm. Heck of a hill climb, no fun downhills though.

Anyone know a good match for my front tire.. a Maxxis HRII 3c/exo 2.4. I got this free from a friend. I normally run Specialized Butcher and a Purgatory. Looking to keep the brand the same, so looking at maxxis for a rear. I run trails and XC... trying to get into DH a little.
