We had our first snow two days, about 5 - 6 inches of heavy wet stuff. Of course I had to take my truck out in it to check out how it did in the snow. Yesterday I needed to take a trip to town and when I got up to 50 mph briefly the truck started to shake some, I wrote it off to cold tires and the road surface. Today I had an errand to run that took me at highway speeds for a bit and once again about 50 the truck started to shake. Not as bad as the day before but noticeable. I pulled off the road to check out what might be the problem because the truck never handled like this before. I started checking the wheels and when I got to the back drivers side I noticed some hunks of snow/ice inside the rim. Knocked it off and headed down the road smooth as could be! I will have to remember to check the wheels when I drive in those kind of conditions again.

yup, stuff inside of the rim will definitely make for unbalanced tires.

Another one people have had happen is snow melting down n dripping onto the driveshaft between the cab and bed then refreezing on the driveshaft causing a lump of ice to unbalance the driveshaft.

Make sure it's the truck shaking and not just the steering wheel. If it's the steering wheel - check for debris caked in the wheels.
