Only thing about this is my buddy did the same thing and when he would step on his bumper to get something out of the bed, the plastic across the top of the bumper would rub the plastidip off exposing the chrome. Didn't really look good after that

I spray painted my chrome bumper black and it doesn't run off like plastidip.

It's good to know that works, I have thought about buying a couple touch up cans of paint to match my truck and paint it myself. What did you do to prep the chrome for paint? Anything?

I removed the bumper and sanded it with sand paper and wiped it clean. Then I sprayed about three coats of spray paint. It has been about a year and so far only has one small paint chip.

funny, chrome reminds me of high school through mid twenties. I hate chrome these days. I would never buy a Texas Edition anything because of it. Mine are black but I have no pics of afterwards

Hey guys..update here... my plastidip started to peel off already so I debadged it, sanded the emblems down a lititle and sprayed them gloss black. Only problem now is I can't decide if I wanna put them back on or leave them off. The clean debadged tailgate is kinda growing on me. 20151122_160350.jpg 20151122_160355.jpg 20151123_160310.jpg 20151122_161816.jpg 20151122_161847.jpg

Doesn't look like the badges were clean enough to plastidip and not enough coats.. mine have no sign of peeling at all after 6 months.... oh well... I would keep them off at this point!

I cleaned them with a toothbrush before I plasti dipped them and put 4 coats on them. I think it was because I used the Duplicolor brand of plastidip with "EZ peel technology" haha. It was a couple bucks cheaper per can. Should have went with the good stuff first. Oh well. lol. They look really good with the Enamel gloss black on them. Only problem I have ran in to is that the two sided tape that comes on the emblems are formed to cover the entire back of the emblem. All I can find to re insall them with is 3M emblem tape which comes in rolls.

Its probably because I used the Duplicolor brand plastidip with "EZ Peel technology" haha. Lesson learned I guess. But I really like them with the gloss black enamel paint. Just haven't installed them yet and don't know if I really want to or not. I'm defiantly going to be reinstalling the two that go in the front doors.

    Dip them black.

Then get a paint matched bumper. Fix both problems rather than just one.

How did you get them off? And what did you use to put them back on?
