    question for you guys

    i have a 91 2wd pickup thats my daily driver. i have stashed away: a 4 speed trans, gear driver t-case, front and rear toy axles, and drivshaft from a 1980 toy pickup


    what would be the best way to go about a swap? trail gear kit? sky kit? or build my own?

    i should mention i also have a 95.5 taco im currently fixing up for my dd

    well first off I'd say ditch the 4 speed trans. I think Advanced adapters sells a kit to put the gear drive case behind the 2wd 5speed.

    Depends on how everything is going to be setup and used. The FToy guys like one of the 4 speeds. After moving the engine/drivetrain back, the shorter trans helps the rear driveshaft length. And if overdrive isn't needed, doesn't matter.

    from my understanding (i could be way wrong) the 5 speed is a way stronger trans.

    Strength aside, a 5spd trans will probibly be cheaper than the adapter from advance adapters.

    Then again, swap that shit in, run what you got, should be a cheap swap. With a 22re (i assume) you aren't going to break anything anyway.

    Lol, this guy dropped the price on the axletechs. $1500 for a front steer and fixed rear. Looks like the final ratio is 6.8:1, and I'd need all of that! :D

    no body has done anything fun. Though my truck did get chosen to be in LCE's 2016 calendar.

    i have to send them a bunch of pics that were taken with a high end camera. I happen to have a friend that just started getting into that sorta thing so she took some pics of it up one of the few local trails left open. Ill share them when she gets them to me.
