What gear are you putting atop your roofs in the basket? I hunt, fish, kayak, and camp, with use of the Tacoma. Always looking for new ideas on organization. I currently use a crossbar system atop my shell for transporting some gear. I will soon add a basket to the oem rack on the roof for more transportation needs. Pics are worth a thousand words!

Word of caution, the OEM rack looks functional but it sucks! If you haven't bought one yet, look at the aftermarket for a roof rack. From experience, my basket didn't fit the OEM rack without buying an additional extension for the basket. Also, the max weight allowed on the OEM bars is something like 75lbs. The basket alone is 30lbs....

Ya already have a an oem rack, dealer threw it in with the truck, I guess I didn't realize it was so flimsy, ive never used it. In the end doesn't matter, as I don't plan on carrying much weight up there, only odds and ends. I leave the heavy gear for the bed.
