I have one question - If you don't like the transmission shifting - for you - why did you buy an automatic?
My AC-Sport-MT Was built today. Replacing my 2010, which replaced my 2001, which replaced my 1988 which replaced my 1982 - All MT's. I like to control my truck and not the other way around.

What is with the idea the engine and transmission are new??? Been around in other Toyota vehicles for awhile with no issues. The AT can be manually shifted so not sure where the MT has much of an advantage just personal choice. Playing truck driver with a mid size pick up is a must do for some I guess.

I get the " I luv my old truck and/or I am not ready to trade in my old truck crowd but not the "I would have bought the 2016 but have read all the complaints so I won't now" nonsense. Most of the 2016's will never see a warranty claim and from what I can see most of the issues are isolated and, while annoying and need fixing are not major items. Toyota and every other car maker offers a warranty. If it breaks they fix it.

    Stock and loving it
You cannot hold it in a higher gear than the truck wants in the Auto. You can in the manual

The gear ratios on the MT are different than the AT. 6th gear at 75mph on the MT will be running several hundred RPM higher than 6th gear at 75 mph on the AT. Both 5th and 6th gear on the AT are overdrive gears designed to keep the engine running at low RPMs for high MPG at steady cruising speeds. For those who have an AT and don't like it downshifting all the time, just use the sport shift mode and put it in 5th. It will keep it from shifting up into 6th. It will ding your mileage some, but you won't have to worry about the downshifting.

Speaking of gear ratios what are they for the AT? I did a look see and haven't found them.
