I recently contacted Weathertech regarding availability for 1st Gen Toyota Tacoma quad cabs. I was referred to http://www.weathertech.com/service/product-request-form/ and told to submit a request to have these made. If everyone interested could take a minute to also fill this out we could potentially get enough requests in to have these manufactured......just an idea since I can't find any other products that remotely fit.

I just put in a request for the those all weather floor mats too. Hopefully they will offer them. Otherwise you have to buy two sets of front floor mats and they don't fit too well in the back

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I can't believe they don't have them for double cabs, Toyota sold a gazillion of the damn things from 01-04 and it shocks me they wouldn't have them in stock.

I found a similar style from another brand. Can't remember who right this minute but I'll look when I go out to the truck.

Husky's traditional style is closest I've found but still not comparable.

I seriously doubt they will make mats for a 12 year old truck that's not in production anymore

Won't know unless we try. They started making them for 2005 and newer so it's not far fetched. I believe they've made them for older cars/trucks of different make/model just as old.

Although it's possible they will make mats for the 1st gen's, it's highly unlikely. If you manage to get thousands of request sent in, sure they'll be more apt. I'm sure weather tech is focusing on newer model vehicles, so it will probably be awhile if they do create a design. Who knows though, maybe you'll get lucky. :notsure:

With optimism and support by our members I'm sure we could let it be known there In demand. Wether 10 people or 1,000 people submit a request it gets us closer. At approx. $200 for a full set front and back I couldn't imagine thousands of requests are needed. Not sure why a business would turn down profit if they know there's a demand. Manufacturers make tons of misc. parts for older cars/trucks.

Yes, but you have to consider design and production costs. Someone has to research and design the mats to "digitally" fit the truck. Not to mention, someone has to assemble the mats. Those things take money that the company may not receive back by just selling a few floor mats. That's why I believe it would take thousands of requests.

Husky floor liners for the front of my 2000 fit pretty well, not exact, but more than functional during winter. I've got the Weathertech's floor liners in two other cars, and they are a better fit, but the Husky's are a very functional alternative if they don't come thru.

They would need to make a new tool and die, mold, production run, etc.

It would literally cost them 10s of thousands of dollars to even remotely consider making these.

There is probably a 0% chance they even consider it.

I don't like either, honestly. Had weathertechs in my Legacy, never fit well and the material was impossible to clean.

I have Huskys in my Tacoma and same issues only the Huskys do not utilize the hook on the floor to keep the mat in place, so it always ends up sliding up behind my pedals. Which obviously creates a very large gap where the mat would normally meet the front of the seat.

Lots of dirt gets behind, under, on the side of, etc the Husky mats.

I recently bought a set of WeatherTech fronts for my '01 Xtracab. Decent fit but not quite as tight as the ones in our Prius.

I have a set of these I took out of my 04 xcab that I will sell for $50+ shipping if anyone is interested. They are dirty and need to be cleaned up but a good deal for what your getting.

That's it! Those are the ones I have. I've been fairly happy with them. Fit isn't best but not bad. They stay in place pretty well.

I just put in a request as well. Might as well bump this thread so hopefully more people see the request.
