Jumped in the truck and started up great, drove to the gas station and wouldn't start after. About six months ago did the clutch and put a new starter in so...
    -Banged on starter-check
    -Cleaned connections-check
    -Tightened clamps-check
    -Battery has power
    -Bought new battery anyway
    Still no start any suggestions?

I would say starter has failed. Second guess is battery but you got a new one so that's out.

Starter. Replace it with either a Bosch or a Denso.

After all the things I did I stopped into my buddies shop and he took the clamps off and put them back on and it started

So next day, driving around for work and it failed again.Brought it into my local mechanic thinking it was the alternator or a bad relay or something else. Just the goddam cable clamps some how they are on tight and torqued yet manage to not carry power.Put new ends on and we will see. Thanks for the input though.

    1st gen forum diagnostics:

    OP: Car wont start

2nd, 3rd, 4th poster: The truck is started by a starter! Replace the starter!!!

OP: Hey guys, i actually did some diagnostics on the issue and turns out it was just a loose connection.

5th poster: So you didnt replace the starter? The starter is what starts the truck.

    I don't usually do this but....Caligula read!!
Process of elimination then proper repairs. The alternator charges the battery, the battery powers the starter, solenoid activates the starter, relays and cables do the transmitting, fuses protect. I started with the easiest and cheapest troubleshooting instead of dumping hours and dollars into nothing. If I just changed the starter which is new it's still wouldn't start cause the terminal ends looked good but were dusted and only costed $7

Exactly, you actually did the proper due diligence in diagnosing the problem.

My comments are not directed to you but to all the knee jerk responses i see on the forum from people with a lack of technical know-how immediately going out and throwing parts at their car based on a single OBD code or a car not starting like you described. Same reason for putting the READ ME FIRST link in my sig.
