PP 5W30 - $19.98 per case

Wasn't quite sure where to post this......

Just stopped by the BJ's Wholesale Club in Portland, ME and they have Penzoil Platinum 5W-30 and 10W-30 for $19.98 per case (6 qts). Normal price is cheap at $24.98 and there's $5 off at the register - no coupon required. I've always run Mobil 1, but at this price, I picked up 2 yrs worth of oil changes (I went back after purchasing 1 case).

Not debating which is better but I've been buying 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 synthetic for over a year now using their $12 mail in rebate promo. Walmart and Amazon both sell the jugs pretty regularly for $23ish which means that after rebate you can get a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 for about $10 which is the best deal on motor oil I've seen. They allow for two rebates per person per address and have been doing a new rebate every 2-3mos or so. Each time they do it I do two to our address and two to a work address so we've got a nice stock pile going. The rebates are pretty simple and don't require UPC or any cutting of the jugs or anything like that. PP is great oil and that's a solid price if it's specifically what you're looking for but I thought I'd post another option for those who also like Mobil 1 because that's a tough deal to beat IMHO.

 

I didn't realize that Mobil 1 rebate was an ongoing program. I've taken advantage of that in the past as that is what I've used since 1st oil change. I thought it was buy two 5qt jugs for the full $12 rebate.....anyway, both are good deals!

 

Nope, it's $12 per 5qts of oil purchased and you can do up to two per name/address for a total of $24 worth of rebates if you buy 10qts of oil. It can be confusing and some claim that you can't use the rebate at Walmart or Amazon but I've done dozens from both and haven't had a single problem yet in the last couple of years.

 

I saw this but it's 5-30 and my 2.7 says 5-20 or 0-20 so I got it a Walmart for $23
Mobile 1 was $26 or maybe $26.99

I started a thread a while back informing everyone that even though it's not listed the Walmart rebates get processed just fine. I tend to use www.camelcamelcamel.com to put the oil in and let me know when it goes below $24 and use my Prime account for free 2-day shipping and no tax these days though but early on I had no issues w/Walmart rebates.
