I didn't install separate tweeters. I installed 3.5 in 2 way coaxial speakers in the factory tweeter position. It took a lot of grinding and fitting on the factory tweeter brackets to get them to fit. The Magnet rests on the door without any modification to the door or door panel and I was able to pick up the 'top' tweeter mount and use a supplied clip nut on the lower mount ear.

The 6X9s are 3 way coaxial speakers in the factory locations using the speakers as adapters. I gutted the speaker and used modified j-bolts from Lowes to attach the new speakers to the factory speakers. I had to trim off the 'speaker baffle' on the back of the door panel to get the 6X9 to fit, but that was it.

As far as your initial question: I like very bright highs and these speakers are really music to my ears... bu-dump ching!

Beware of Taco Tunes. Read their reviews on the Audio/Video Forum.

I searched and searched for the right speakers for my ear. I was thinking about JBL, JL Audio, Hybrid Audio, Hertz, and Pioneer. When I went to a local dealer that used to sell Eclipse to listen to them I found that Eclipse pulled out of car audio a few years ago and the shop had transitioned to Memphis Car Audio. I was familiar with the brand, but there was little in the way of reviews. When I heard the Power Reference Speakers play my mind was made up that this was the setup I was going with.

Alright went back tonight and installed Memphis Car Audio Oversized 6 1/2 2-WAY coaxial speakers, 15PRX620, in the rear doors. While I was at it I took the front door panels off and snapped a few pictures:

Not too many mods quite yet, but have a bit in the works.

So far I've: painted my skid plate with undercoating, painted a few other bits black, wired a 12v outlet to always on, etc.

In the works: sliders from @mobtownoffroad, alu bumper from relentless, add on electrical panel from @Sandman614, 1.5-2" lift and new tires.

I've also got a 3d printer, and if you've got something you're designing that you'd like to see before sending off to a shop, or need a replacement for some unobtanium plastic bit, drop me a line.

Just curious, how many of the Roanoke area members are sporting a TacomaWorld.com decal on their truck? I have one on the way. How often have you spotted one?

There aren't too many active members out this way, maybe 2-3 I know of. Most are central to eastern VA.
