How is it free? Dealer paying for gas and insurance?

Elder p obviously they are not paying for gas and insurance but the deal has been made and I will continue to drive it. I drive it for work and put a lot of miles on every month so the truck will have thousands more miles on it when I trade it in.

Sounds like a typical car dealership to me. Did you expect anything else?

I specified "not white" when I ordered my 2011. The internet sales guy found an MGM from "somewhere" with 13 mystery miles on it. I'm now having some "issues"... Stick it out, get your blue one from factory.

Ask for a killer deal on the white. But that stinks.

Ask them to pay for any routine service you have to put into your current truck until the blue truck arrives.

Trucks are taken for test drives.....

I've been on many test drives in new vehicles with 5 miles on them or new vehicles with 80 mIles on them.

As someone who used to work in sales, I hafta say, shit happens sometimes and it sucks. We're all humans, and sometimes things get missed. (I was not a car salesman).

That being said, I can also tell you that you should wait for what you want. It's that old, "if you're not happy with it in the store, you're not going to be happy with it at home either" mantra.

I'm sure they'd be willing to toss in some extra floor mats or a bed mat for the trouble. Otherwise I'd take the build sheet and go to another dealership. Explain to them what happened and I'm sure they'd be more than willing to work with you.

Team sarcasm I understand trucks are taken on test drives. I have done the same. But a truck I have ordered should not be on a "test drive"

Yeah, and I regret accepting it. I wanted a 0 mi truck from factory, but I got a 13 mi. truck from unknown location. Who knows how long it sat outside &/or in what kind of weather was it driven those 13 mi.? It makes a difference, sometimes.

I have rarely seen under 5 miles on the truck because the factory drives the truck for a little to make sure it works. I doubt those 13 miles made any difference but think what you want :notsure:

Well that's a little different. A truck on the lot unspoken for is fair game.

I bought mine on a monday, it had 17kms on it...they delivered it on the wednesday, it had 51! I am about 10kms away from dealer...so I asked where it went for the extra 24 km's...saleslady says "I dunno...to get gas maybe?"...I dont think they even put a sold sign on it when I left...the saleslady arrives at my house to pick up the cash, and the guy delivering the vehicle phones her cell and says (I could hear clearly) which one do you want? the auto or standard?"
    sigh...dealerships

I completely understand your situation OP. Ordering a new vehicle to find out they ordered the wrong one is very irritating. You have three options:
    1. Take your business elsewhere
    2. Settle on the super white
    3. Wait for the blue to arrive
I ranked those for what I would settle on. Due to the dealership's lack of understanding, I'd purchase the blue you wanted at another dealer. You're going to have to wait for it no matter where you go, so choose somewhere that caters to your needs. Just my $0.02
