i was starting to contemplate other members statements of getting highs flashed at them after installing HIDs (I got the 55w 5500K, w/ the LED fog lights). i also see that after the install the course of light out of the headlights is level, i mean both the driver and passenger side are casting a beam of light at the same horizontal level.

thinking back to other vehicles i've had w/ factory projector HIDs the driver side casts light slightly lower than the passenger side. I'm not sure if this was designed as part of the factory projector housing or if they were aimed slightly downward from the factory.

Is this something we should consider doing with our driver side light? angling the beam slightly lower than the passenger side? or leave them level as it was for the standard halogen bulbs? maybe this would help avoid being flashed by oncoming drivers

When I installed my hids in my factory projectors they needed lowered a little cause stock height is way to high for hids. It's ok for halogens since they arnt as bright!

Mine are fine where they were set from the factory. Driver side is SLIGHTLY lower than passenger. Never considered that it may be intentional

is there a "standard" for lights on the height we should aim them at?
Like for example, "At 25 feet from a wall the lights cut-off should be at X inches/feet"

On the road normal driving No, I do live in the country and cross cattle guards every day and live off a long gravel driveway, on that type of driving yes I get a lil jiggle. It's nothing major, and the difference in light output is phenomenal.

Curious on people's set up. Is everyone using the power harness with relays to run power directly from the battery. Or just using the existing harness with ballast, canbus, to HID bulb?

If you are using the power harness does it only require to plug in one oem plug. What I am trying to say is that the harness has one plug labeled oem input. I am confused on how to incorporate this. Can someone either explain or provide a diagram or pictures. Much appreciated

I ran the power lines to the battery and used one oem plug, don't think it matter which. It just depends on where you mount relays/power harness. The ballasts need separate pkwer from what the oem plug provides. The oem plug is to control the hids.

    Hope that made sense....

Has anyone else had trouble with the connection going to the OEM plug? The connection does not seem like a very good one and I had a headlight go out while driving, I turned head lights off and on and it turned back on... the only connection I was not very sure about was the oem plug sending the signal to power on lights.

If you have installed your system using the relay which supplies power to both lights then one light would not go out because of the connection from the OEM connection to the relay, all I can suggest is to recheck the connections from the relay to the faulty headlight to make sure they are all tight and are making connection (male to female).

You can check the operation of the relay as well by listening or putting your hand on it when the headlight switch turns on, you should hear it or feel it when the lights are turned on, but if the HIDs are working then the relay is most likely working fine, it is most likely a loose connection between the relay and the bulb, or, a faulty bulb.

Hope this helps, the connections can be "finnicky".

No its bouncing. I see it when I am on a bumpy road. And when I romp over railroad tracks. It's the bulb moving. No illusion tricks. I drive on both smooth and rough streets that how I know they move. Or shake

I noticed when I installed mine there was "2 ways" they would "lock in" one way they were a little loose and the other way they were super tight, maybe try taking them out and putting them back in "in a different rotation" if that makes any sense...

Mine are Morimotos and they came from VLEDs.

Maybe we are not talking about the same thing, I was referring to putting the socket back in the projector housing.
