Hello there members, I've been debating for the longest & stuck.
I've been debating between Yellow HID Fogs or LED Fogs. I would like to do projector fogs for the cut off line, though seems like a bit fabrication is required.
Anyways, how much big difference between HID & LED? How well does it cut through fog?

    Thanks.

Just swap in a set of pod style led lights... Like the Rigid D2 or Dually.

If your intent is to have something functional for snow/fog type conditions go yellow. Personally I went HID plug n play kit (saved the expensive Retro for my main headlights) for mine. I did the 3k kit & the color output is amazing. Perfect for all sorts of inclement weather conditions & looks cool as an added bonus.

    Wait for it...
@Ostrichsak have you had any issues with the fog assemblies getting too hot or melting from the HID's? I run DDM HID kits on everything and came across a note on their site referring to the '12 Tacomas melting fog lamp housings.

35w HIDs run cooler than 55w halogen, so it shouldn't be an issue unless your trying to run over wattage HIDs.

The idea of a fog light is to project the light low under the fog so it doesn't bounce back to the drivers eyes and reduce vision distance. That all goes out the window when running an HID in a halogen reflector that will scatter light everywhere outside the beam pattern and bounce it right back in your eyes in the fog, deliberately defeating the main advantage of a fog light.

I also had some a-hole in a Tacoma with his LED fogs follow me on the highway last night, blinding the crap out of me. I wanted to let him pass and give him a taste of my 170w 4800 lumen properly engineered halogen headlights. But against my better judgement I was nice.

Don't be an a-hole. Run halogen lights in halogen reflectors or get proper retrofits. There are halogen bulb upgrades you can run to get more light output like Osram night breakers and others.

    forgot I made this thread.

Well, I need it function as fog lights which is why I wanted yellow.
I was debating regular yellow bulb halogen or yellow LED fogs
Was thinking going with Noyka LED Fog http://mtqinc.com/nokyausa/led_access/ledbulb/ledbulb.php

Though I was thinking of HID Plug & Play just want to see what are my options out there.

Just ordered 5k for the headlights high/low beam and a 3k for the fog lights. Same setup I had on my is300 and my mercedes.. stoked to put them on my truck!
