The lights will more than likely scratch your paint where the led lights rub , but it is a truck . My 2007 had lights on it every christmas season and they did scratch the paint . Also never been pulled over for them [I believe it is illegal in California to put multi colored lights on your vehicle unless it is a government vehicle, but I think the authorities have the holiday spirit] . Are they under the bed rail? No wonder they scratch. I'm getting into the holiday spirit as well, but there is no way in hell i'm doing that to my truck when it gets here!!!

My lights are zip tied to the bed cleat tracks and gorilla taped ontop of the rails. No need to even touch paint.

Yes they are under the bed rail . The lights never messed up the bed rail [always went flat after taking out the light strand] . It's a truck a little scratches from holiday [don't want to offend folks that don't celebrate Christmas] lights doesn't bother me .

Cool , you happen to be the only other Tacoma driver that uses the outlet for Holiday lights . I have never seen any Tacoma in Southern California with them [and I see Tacomas every minute {it seems}] .
