Has anyone run 35's without regearing on a 2.7?

Regearing is coming... but I'm going to need new tires for the spring, and going 35's is tempting, but I don't know whether turning them with a stock 2.7 (LCE header, aFe air filter) with stock gearing (4.10's) would work..

I'm rolling on 285/75/16 Toyo Open Country M/T's currently and they're a pretty heavy tire, once I sorted out all the drag (wheel bearings, idlers, etc.) it's nothing to be desired but it still works okay.

    Anyone ever try it?

As long as you like the smell of burning clutch and don't mind all the people honking at you during your 20 minute journey to 40mph, you'll be fine.

It'll be fine! 315 75 16's MTR's are a pound lighter than my Toyo's. I cant see it being that bad!

I'm pretty sure my v6 4runner on 34s and stock gears could get out dragged by a prius.

    That's alright.

If I'm doing any sort of long highway driving I'll take my IS300. Or swap on a smaller set of tires!

I have 31's on stock gearing. Every morning i fire it up, aim it at work, drop a cinder block on the gas pedal and let it go. Then i go back inside, take a shower, drink a couple cups of coffee and mosey to catch up to the truck beige it gets to my office.

245 75's are almost 31's. My 33's aren't that bad. Especially with all the bearings in working order. I have to drop less gears to maintain speed going up hills than Jeeps with the 3.8.
