bfg's or firestone

so ive been looking into getting some 285/70r17 tires (33")

the ratings on the firestone destination A/T are overall better then the BFG's A/T. for mostly driving on the road and the occasional offroading what do you guys suggest?

and if theres any other tires i should be considering let me know

 

i have the firestones currently and i do mostly highway with occasional offroad. i think they work great in any situation. i like em and don't have any complaints. i have also heard nothing but good things about the bfg's too so you can't go wrong.

I'd get the BFGs....Nitto Terra Crapplers aren't quality tires! I'm running em now and there cancers. They only have 28k on em and their slicks!

 

BFG, will be getting as soon as my stock wear out.
I have used them on all my jeeps and the are good long lasting quiet tires.
Not the best in mud but the work and good on road driving.

 

Ive been asking myself this same question. And if it helps Im leaning towards the BFG A/Ts. So be different! Im kidding or am I?!

On another note my old jeep cherokee got over 60k with them.

 

BFGs are tried and tested. Stick with what works!

 

I have 26K on my Destination A/T's. Not once have I had a problem and they're still just as good as the day I bought them. There's a ton of tread left (haven't measured it but it's a lot), they're still quiet, they've worn evenly, and traction is good.

That makes no sense because I could say the exact same thing about the Firestone's.

 

Based on the Total Miles Reported portion of the survey the BFG's are over 7 times more tried and tested.

Eh I say buy what looks best at what your wallet can handle!

 

It's a percentage and so the amount of miles makes no difference. And, btw, the Destination's have been either 1 or 2 for the last couple years.

But I agree with your second point. In that vein, I bought mine from a Firestone shop for $504 installed.

 

firestone had the 25 percent off everything sale today so i went with the destinations. they look so sick!!! hope they last

Yeah, the BFG's, while they are no question good tires, are a heck of a lot more expensive for IMO not much more performance.

 

Dont buy Firestone, unless u want to have a shaking steering wheel after 10k miles. Trust me. BFG forever 50k+ miles easy

 

I'll be getting BFGs. my brother's tacoma has them, my buddy jon's tacoma has them... so on. BFG's all the way.

 

BFGs are THE most popular tire for trucks, hands down.

They're like the civic of the econo car world. On the upper end of the price range, but they last damn near forever and they're a solid choice all around if thats what you want.

I would have checked into Revo's though, at least to give you another option.

 

everyone that has bfg's has so much bad stuff to say about firestones. but almost everyone on any forum whos using firestones love them and say they perform just as well. i think your just being haters, maybe firestone tires upgraded!


but good point pittin... the revos werent in stock so i wouldnt of saved my 25% (and the destinations had much better reviews)
