I've been thinking about switching to a highschool that's 20 mins away from me. I want to switch mainly to play lacrosse. Hilton Head Highschool has a really good lacrosse program and players actualy get scholarships on that team. I play for Hilton Heads rivals and I guess every one would think I'm a traitor if I switch. The only other people that know I want to switch are Hilton Head's coach and my guidance counclor. I haven't even told my parents. I'm not sure to switch or not. I want to but don't want to lose all my friends. Lacrosse is my life and I want to do what ever I can to get to college for it. Any body think this is a good idea? I do and the Hilton Head coach does but my guidance counslor thinks I'll be unhappy with the switch

It's a sactioned school sport. I wish I could ask MY lacrosse coach. He wouldn't ever play me if he found out I wanted to switch

It is the same way here in Ca. If you transfer to play sports you have to sit the whole next season. I think if they find out afterwards that you transfered and played they can take away wins and titles. They tried to take all of our wins away our JR football season due too two guys tranfering. Check into it, the coaches should know more.

What my suggestions to you would be to push yourself to the colleges. Send them highlight tapes and letters of interest and what not. Thats what killed me with going on in College. The coaches didnt push me to the colleges and I thought they would.

Ya it is hard to come by a full ride, but if your good enough they will find ways to get you to play. I wasnt good enough for a full ride but got offered a huge discount to an out of state D1-AA college in Washington. But after 9 years of football I didnt know if I still had the heart. If they want you bad enough they will offer you anything.

Thanks guys... seems like it'd be best to stay where I am. But in lacrosse it's a hell of a lot easier to get full ride.

There was a girl I went to school with that wanted to transfer to my high school for soccer but could not since her current school had a soccer team. So she ended up transfering for the agriculture program that her current school did not offer and ending up playing soccer.
If you would be penalized for transfering for athletics then look for something in acidemics that Hilton Head offers that your current school does not and transfer for that reason.

    Lots.
    He's right.

Reason being... Lots of schools are just starting their programs and are looking for kids to come. Most kids are going to want to come to programs that are established like Duke, 'Cuse, Virginia. So to draw you to their school they offer money. It's never easy to get a full ride but you should definitely see some money.

Ya but I go to a major college and it doesn't have a program...would that make the competetion that much tougher since not every school has a program?
