You have to turn it in and start walking away. Its annoying at least the repeat ones, i still havent found all the settlements yet.

This is the same as the BOS squire missions. "Hey, you just got back from pwning those ghouls at a shop for the 3rd time at that location. How about taking another squire out and doing it all over again. Heck by the time you get back maybe you can clean out the comic book store for the fourth time in front of a small child!"

BTW I love how the BOS expects you to pass an evaluation on someone who basically hides in the corner during combat...

I finally reached the glowing sea. But looking at my map it still seems barren as can be. I need to do some good ol exploring

Well i finished the main questline this morning. Was level 31 when i finished. Thats all ill say so i dont spoil anything :)

Not sure what Ill end up doing now. Probably do some of the side quests i havent done but not sure. Im not into the whole explore 100% or anything. So might end up finding a guide on al the cool/rare loot and go for some of that now.

Cool deal. Normal difficulty? Restart on a harder one? Personally id lovw to explore everything, find all the comics/bobbleheads and even get all the perks but thats going to be a long time. Plus i like finding the legendary items.

After finishing the main story, is anyone thinking that Fallout: New Vegas or Fallout 3 is the better "game"? I mean, story wise, I preferred New Vegas and overall I preferred Fallout 3. Sure, the crafting, settlement building, and other sandbox functionality is pretty cool but I just don't feel like this games story line, environment, or combat really draws me in like it did in the last two games.

I, like many others, have spent many many hours on the settlements and I'm kind of wondering for what? The wasteland isn't any better, the settlements take time to protect and keep happy, and there isn't really an objective beyond feeling like I'm playing Fallout Sim City as a secondary game behind Fallout 4.

Maybe I'm just wrong and I'm the only person feeling this. Maybe, as I do more side quests and the expansions come out, I'll feel different. Maybe I'll try a new play through where I'll do more Railroad and Institute missions to see if the game feels more complete then.

BTW don't take any of this the wrong way. Fallout 4 was still a kickass game and the only video game this year that I spent more than a few hours playing. I'm sure I'll get more hours out of the game with enjoyment included, but I couldn't help but wonder last night if I wasn't missing something that should make me feel like Fallout 4 is as good as I was expecting... because I don't feel that way yet.

I played to around 27-28, restarted, got to 30 this morning, and still haven't gotten back to Diamond City since rescuing the detective or met with Piper yet for her questline opening.

I'm a quester and an explorer though.

Personally, after I get the main quest done, the first thing I go for is getting the rest of the bobbleheads, getting the other power armor suits, and the named weapons I don't have yet.

I'm just going to keep stumbling around the wasteland. There are plenty of sidequests out there. I'm not a go collect all the stuff sort of gamer, but I will try to find and complete all the sidequests I can even if it's just by wandering around aimlessly.

    I hear you.

This Fallout feels like an FPS-SimSettlement clone with RPG flavors, rather than BEING the the RPG with other elements thrown in.

Now that you're not really effecting the game the same way, it's a bit more....out of touch. I mean, in previous games, you weren't so restricted in what you can do. Now, with the consolified dialog options, I can choose: decline, good guy, and snarky good guy as storylines.

I'd rather go back to the mute protagonist with all the options available, personally.

    Good, I'm not crazy then.

I will say that this game has way more ways to die though. Last night I was trying to cut across from the BOS camp to a settlement I had to rescue and I blundered into a raider settlement I didn't know existed. I'm absolutely destroying them, feeling like a guy out of a COD commercial, when suddenly I hear that mini nuke whistle. As I'm going WTF I get blown to smithereens. I never remember walking into a situation like that in Fallout 3, and getting nuked does compel me to go back and do the same to them :D.

The suiciders are just too awesome.

I never thought I'd see the day where I have to worry about sprinting super mutant jihadis.

It's just beautiful. I love sniping that right arm from half a mile away when he's still in the middle of their camp

Yup, I love hitting that mini nuke arm right as he runs by his buddies. I also like blowing off their heads when they are about 30 feet away and collecting my custom delivered mini nuke :D.

This was a raider with a fatman though. No unfriendly random NPC's ever had guns worth worrying about in 3. Now in 4 it's like every fifth raider is packing a .50 cal, fatman, or missile launcher ready to fudge you up if you aren't wearing your power armor.

I think I've worn power armor on a mission.... three times. Total so far.

Same here. I used it for the last few BOS missions. With the VATS helmet upgrade and Auto Stimpack torso upgrade it's a walk in the park to win any battle.

If you are going to explore the glowing sea I highly recommend power armor. Then you can walk around without worrying about the rads. You can even step in the odd horrible pile without getting soaked in rads.

I'm sure if I was wearing that armor when that mini nuke landed 10 feet away I might of lived, been healed automatically by the suit, and then bum rushed that launcher before he had a chance to get another shot off.

I almost never use the power armor so far

Rebuilt my Starlight Theatre settlement using the housing structure walls as par of the fence which freed me up to do some more crafting there
