There seems to be a lot of interest in the new 7.0. Currently I have FXRs with a 35w setup. I have a set of aftermarket assemblies wasting space so may just use them and sell my current headlights. For those who are experienced would you do the FXR or 7.0? I feel like the light could be a little better so want to try a 55w this time to see what kind of difference it will make. Thanks

I haven't seen any output shots of the 7.0's. I'd like to see some

There are 2 on the TRS site. The FXRs are a bigger headache to install and I feel like a 7.0 would be more secure for the long run since I can use the supplied hardware. Between the mini h1 6.0 and FXR I don't think I notice a difference that makes it worth the extra work

The 7.0 does have a longer shaft so you don't have to shave the back of the bowl down. So if its easier install, I'd go with 7.0

Way easier install. With the FXR you have to cut the bowl to make the hole way bigger so it just the JB Weld holding it. It's been fine for a year and a half with some off roaring but still wonder about the long term

Looks good. My only suggestion which is probably a very obvious one is to not rush yourself so that you can take your time and do a great job. It's the kind of thing once you seal them you can't really make any changes or adjustments without having to go through the entire process again.

    yep!

I have a back up set that I already opened up and have ready to paint. Will do all the painting, modding and adjusting, then will open my stock headlights up and use the nice non pitted covers. I am in no rush and plan on taking my sweet ol time doing these. especially with a 6 month old and sharing baby duties with the wifey.
