I had back surgery a few weeks ago so I finally got around to installing these. Just so everyone knows, these bolt on to where the stock bars would go and not to the frame so they're not meant for serious offroading. Avid also says this on there website so you know what you're buying. They also offer weld ons for anyone that wheels hard.

Installation was super easy, just 6 bolts on each side. There was no instructions but none are really needed. I did go on to Nfabs website to get a torque spec which is 15#ft. I also used blue loctite but it's not a necessity.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with them. I prefer the looks of sliders to steps or running bars and unless you was under the truck you would never know that they bolted to factory step bar location. They are super solid, zero flex when I step on them(I'm 225lbs) They came packed very well. It took me longer to unpack these than to mount them.

I would recommend these to anyone that prefers the look of sliders but don't really need the protection that frame or weld on sliders provide. They do a good job as a step and should protect from door dings which was the primary reason I bought them. Also a much easier install than if they were mounted to the frame. Also, these saved me over $200(including shipping) than any of the frame mounted options.

Sorry no pics, I don't do any of the photo hosting sites but they look like any other slider out there

Nice. You can just click "Upload a File" right next to "Post Reply" and choose the image if you have it saved on your computer. I'm interested in where/how they actually attach to the truck since Avid Offroad's website does not show any pictures of that.

If you crawl under your truck, there will be 3 sets of 2(on each side) black plastic screws behind the pinch weld in the rocker panel...front, middle, and back. Simply unscrew these and the sliders use these to bolt to.

i have the avid bolt on sliders as well. couldn't be happier with them. just so happens that i have a pic of how they mount. Another member pm'd me on tuesday asking for info on them. if you get them, make sure you get the kickouts. They're worth it. The shinyness you see is my recent krown treatment:DTake a look:20151124_154840.jpg 20151124_154650.jpg 20151124_154744.jpg

I ordered a set just for for door ding protection. Do they project out far enough to protect the door? Hard to tell in the photos.

Does a bear shit in the woods?:D yes, it will stop the vast majority of doors. But certain doors can get past sliders, like some rear car doors (due to the shape) and of course vehicles that sit higher than your own. This is why i also have color matched body mouldings. If any door gets past the sliders, they will catch it.

I thought if they're not bolted or welded to the frame they are not technically "sliders". I have nerf bars but if I came down hard on a rock or something, I could still take some body damage. Serious question. Because if so, I'll definitely upgrade to these bolt on sliders.

Thanks for posting your results. I have a set ordered for my '16 and was curious on the quality of the sliders. I don't go off road, never will but I prefer the looks of the sliders. I couldn't care less if technically they aren't "sliders" since they aren't bolted to the frame. I only care about the function they perform for what I intend them to do for me.

I was going to pull the trigger on getting some avid sliders a few months back, and thought that they were a good price compared to other vendors, when I found out they bolTed to the body, that went out the window

Do you do any off roading? If your answer is no, then bolting to the frame vs. body makes zero difference.

These really should NOT be referred to as sliders for the simple fact that actually sliding on them will do as much, if not more, damage then nothing at all. As a step or decorative item I'm sure they're just fine.

I think for the vast majority of people this would suffice. Even Offroad as long as it's not rock crawling or anything that would leave you on your frame. But there is nothing wrong with the mentality of having and not needing then needing and not having. I am usually like that but couldn't justify the almost $300 extra when this is my daily and I know I will not beat on it
