What's the price on the full unit?
    How thick is the canvas?
Does the tent stay attached? If not, how hard is the install?

It's $1300 for the lift and another $1300 for the tent. You can get any topper they have, which vary greatly in price with some add ons. I payed around 5k for everything installed out the door.

The canvas is very think and high quality, reminds me of the military canvas tents.

You can leave the tent attached at all times or remove it. It's made of a few separate pieces and they all Velcro together and onto the topper and truck. I got the carpet in my topper so it velcros directly to that and we glued on Velcro on the end of my topper door as well as the sides of the bed.

is the back of the cap supposed to line up like that with the tail gate sticking out farther than the cap door?

They made a curved fiberglass lip to fit on the topper door to fit the curve of the rear tailgate perfectly. In that photo it looks like it's resting on the tail gate but that's actually a fiberglass lip. It all fits nice and snug together.

I just got my A.R.E. V-Series Cap and notice that the cap shifts left and right when I come across a bump in the road while driving home. I wonder if it's flexing of the composite bed, do you guys with caps on your '16 have the same issue?

I think that is a 2nd gen cap put on a 3rd gen. Doesent line up for my tastes, you can see the shadow along the side of the overhang.

If it was a second gen cap it would sit ~ an inch above the cab due to the taller bed in the third gen. Someone posted a photo of a second hen cap on the third and it was noticeably taller than the cab.

Mine do have the four holes, these holes were used to mount the shell to the wood frame that was used for shipping.

No, sounds like your clamps aren't tight enough.

If you check the clamps and they are tight, it might just be the frame flexing as you go over a bump. This will cause the bed to move relative to the cab. Back in the days when we could ride in the back of trucks, you would notice this quite a bit sitting in the bed with your back against the cab. I know frames are less bendy these days, but even some of the Toyota videos show some bed twerking going on. So all that to say it may be normal, but check the clamps.

Does the shell rub on the paint around the bed? Or is there a gap between the fiberglass and paint? I ask because they changed the way to bedrail caps are, and they don't wrap around the sides. I noticed this caused issues with the tundras when that change was first made.

Thanks for your reply. This is my first truck and I don't know if this is normal. I have a long bed and the cap dealer installed only four clamps on my cap so I went back and bought two more clamps. I installed the two additional clamps in the middle of the cap. Cap is solid on the bed so probably it's just the bed flexing. I also noticed that the gap between the bed and the cab has increased since the cap was installed.
