Started working on a rack to go on the cap of the truck, similar to a Frontrunner or Prinsu . Making out of some old materials I've got laying around.


There will be 4 cross members with the Trac and 4 solid bars in between.


Mounts made out of construction grade brackets. Had to cut them down a bit with a cutoff wheel.

 

Now that looks interesting... finish up and show us more.

 

Lol, it's slow going I only have about an hour or so a week to work on it. I've got all winter to play with it. I'll be sure to post updates though

Homemade bed divider. Won't slide forward.

 

Was thinking what I could do when I put food in back today so wouldn't slide all over .Found it . Nice job and simple

 

I have a shovel in my bed, I put my grocery bags between it and the side. I also use reusable bags from Costco, they are way bigger than normal bags and the handles loop over the side rail knobs (sorry can't think of what they're called right now).

 

Good Idea . But I had foil trays with food (3) so that board would have been good. Used my cargo bar and egg crate and storage box to block it in.

A word of caution, if they can move, don't let them slide into your tailgate. Bad things will happen Ask me how I know. Wimpy tailgate syndrome.
I use 4 X 70# bags of sand strapped down.

Got idea from That's my truck and added 3/4 plywood aluminum trim channel( bolted to bed storage box bolts) to hold wood in .Slides into channel. Since don't use doors for storage box put one in middle also.

 

Instead of retrofitting projectors to get a demon eye effect I simply added red LEDs to the "bulb shield" inside the headlights. So now I have the whole reflector bowl lit red for an angry eye effect.

 

Not a mod per se, but for my groceries, I have a low-tech solution: 37 Gal Rubbermaid rectangular tub, with lid secured with bungee across top, between side handles (short rope loops on handles).
Some handy reuse&recycle outdoor carpeting in the bed takes care of slipping.

Thinking about adding some weight for the first winter in this truck...

 

Unfortunately, no. You have to gently pry it to where you can get an exacto knife bind it and cut each plastic pin. When you're done painting it, you just glue it back on. I forget how many pins there are being it. 8-10 or so. I was very careful with each one.

I posted this idea in another thread, it's what I use for weight.

(2) 5gallon buckets with lids
Bags of quickrete or sand
2 eyelets with washers/nuts
2 dring shackles

Drill hole near base of bucket and put the eyelet through with washer and nut on inside to prevent leaking

Fill up bucket with sand or quickrete (wet to harden) put on lid when done

Put in bed of truck near rear d rings and connect the eyelet to the dring in bed with the shackles

Boom you have evenly distributed weight that can be removed in 5 seconds if needed and is durable and won't move
