Bluetooth Messaging

I drove my truck all day today it worked great with my iPhone 6s Plus,,,, it reads mine while in motion,, stopped i can see it, And in the nav screen you can type in a phone number or pull it up,, and presto it pulls up the address associated with number.

 

What iOS are you running and Entune version? JBL?

 

Now I've only had mine for less than 24 hours so I might be wrong, but I couldn't get my messages to display while connected to both Bluetooth and the charging cable (iPhone 6). Once I unplugged the phone I started receiving messages, something you may want to try if messages aren't working.

 

Messaging isn't working for me as well. IPhone 6 with JBL system. Occasionally displays that a message was received but doesn't display the text even if stopped. The option to read is greyed out.

 

When my text worked...it would not show up on the screen, but gave an option to hear it...which worked great.

 

No option given to hear texts for me. As a workaround. I use the steering controls to ask Siri to read the last text. Immediately after, it asks if I wish to reply.

 

The only problem I'm having with mine is....Whenever someone calls...it doesn't list their name...just says Unknown caller...even thou these are people in my phone directory....I'm using the Samsung S6 Edge Plus...I've deleted the whole thing several times and each time it trying to Pair up with the truck....the screen says Unable to find phone directory or something to that effect....but I do get messages and text just fine....just not the names of the callers....any ideas?

 

Go to your phones bluetooth settings select Tacoma and turn on notifications. It will work then.

 

I tried everything, nothing works.

 

There is no option on my iPhone 4s to turn on settings for Tacoma. Ever since the 9.1 apple update It stopped working .

 

When the text message comes up while driving my have to use your voice controls and say read message then it should work

 

There is a way to download all your contacts in the settings I think when I get back in matey like I'll look into it and reply

The only way I can get the messages to work is if I turn off/on Bluetooth after it has linked up with Entune. Even after resetting Bluetooth it is hit and miss whether or not it will give me the option to listen to messages. I have NEVER had the option to reply yet. FYI I have an iPhone 6 Plus on the latest update with T-Mobile. Not sure why it doesn't work properly. I did read a thread somewhere else that not all phones worked, some phones only had a few features available, some phones didn't work at all, and it varried not only phone to phone but also between carriers.

 

Basically...the system is crap....to many people have problems with it....

 

Ok, my OCD was killing me so I went into my phone settings and turned on the notifications. Still nothing.

Once I click on the phone icon to bring up the phone screen I can now receive text messages and iMessages (works with drop down and full screen and even voice). However, once I go to any other screen I can't receive anything. This is crazy!! Also, for the ones that I did receive I don't have the quick reply option to reply.

I have the iPhone 6 Plus, Sprint and the most up to date IOS (version 9.1).

I have the same phone. Why does it only give me the option to ignore??

 

Ok. After messing with all the options and everything I think I found out what's going on.

So.....after you turn on notifications you will receive messages. BUT!!!! On my iPhone (Sprint) if I'm texting someone and I keep it on that screen I won't receive their messages in my truck just my phone. If someone else messages you or you close out of messenger you will receive the messages!!!

However, I still have a reply or quick message option. If I try voice to send a message I get "this phone isn't supported" message. I guess I'm half way there.

 

This is like trying to figure out women!! May never figure it out. Lol.

Don't know why you are getting the ignore option.

 

I'm still missing the quick message option



Just found out that Apple doesn't support sending texts or emails from Entune.

Can any of you iPhone users confirm that we can't send texts from the truck?
